This is Tracy's biggest problem IMO. He's got incredible agility around the basket, but it's almost to a detriment. Instead of going up strong, he'll juke and weave his way into a tough shot. Luckily, they go in a lot of times. But he's got good size and some surprising explosion off the ground. I wish he'd go up stronger more often.

We notice tracy missing a lot of shots because we rely on him so much but at the end of the day tracy smith shoots a higher fg% and has better stats in almost every category. Plus booker's stats are padded by being the guy placed in position to score after his teamates make a steal in that stupid press.

yes its a stupid press because it will be good for a few wins but if clemson plays a team that beats it they are guaranteed to lose. They can't win without it. Clemson is a gimmock program and thats why they never make it out of the first round and usually collapse late in the season when teams have gotten their press breaking act together. Clemson sucess is only a measure of thier opponents incompetency and booker is the main feeder off of that incompetency.

It's not like they run a mizzou type press. They run a press with 4 men playing zone principles in the backcourt and the last man playing safety. There are so many opportunities after you break it. On offense, they just chuck threes. Not very impressive.



Tracy manufactures almost all of his points by himself. Yes booker would win a dunk contest.

if ur saying booker doesn't manufacture opportunities for himself, you'z crazy. clemson's offense MUST run through booker for it to work. Booker will draw double teams on the block the whole game, and state must be ready to jump out to defend the 3 on a kickout.

Clemson SHOULD be completely centered on inside-out basketball with Booker because he IS a playmaker.

Booker has evolved into a hell of a passer too. Imo, that's one area where Tracy needs big improvement...He has to identify where the double team is coming from quicker and hit the open man.

I agree that he has got to step up, but unfortunately I do not see this happening anytime soon. He's averaging 4.9 PPG. It's that high just because he had 3 games where he scored in double-digits. I'd love for him to regularly get between 7-12 points per game. But so far this season he has not been that much of a threat. He has evolved into more of a role player than a key contributor.

if their press can force 20+ turnovers from carolina, i am embarrassed to think of what they can do to us.
anybody remember the game like 3 years ago against....alabama or Cincinnati where we had 30+ turnovers??

with that being said, clemson is historically a poor road team, and if we do somehow find a way to consistantly break the press...we could win this game.

I think we play better against man defense, which clemson will play. The zone has killed us all year. Everytime i tune into a game and see the other team in zone i'm like: "man, they know our weakness". Man-d actually gives us more chances to play high-low pick-n-roll and wood/degand shooting off screens.

I THINK, we'll be fine with the press because most teams have pressed us this year and we've done better than i ever remember us doing against the press sans Atsur years. I could see a 3guard lineup if need be, with javi and degand handling most ball handing duties with Mays a safety valve, with Wood and Tracy Smif in...damn, that's an interesting lineup. But i know clemson brings a whole other level of full court press, so, it'll be interesting.

Do you think they'll be able to keep it up in our house... I haven't seen them play other than the UNC game , but thought I heard that their press isn't nearly as effective on the road.

Even if that's case we cannot afford to commit many live ball turnovers. This team has handled pressure better than our past teams. We know it's coming, they know it's coming... can't wait to see how we handle it.

I said Booker gets lots of poitns from press while tracy manufactures ALL of his points. Booker gets at least a free 6ppg just from being inbound guy in the press system. when the other team turns it over hes the guy wide open for the dunk.

I fully agree that booker has more flashy passes and dunks but that doesn't make him better. Still, tracy's numbers are better. How can you say booker is better when he's on a better team, feeds off a system and still has worse numbers?
