So I love 24, always have. But the thing that has stood out to me this season was the guy who plays Vladimir. Sure enough, researching after the episode tonight, turns out he's the same guy who was in my favorite show as a kid. He played a really super decent guy then, now he's an attempted rapist/terrorist. He's not aged well, and his accent-acquiring skills haven't improved too much. Still, Callum Keith Rennie is OK by me.

even tho they minimized the white trash side-story, next week looks like it will be more prominent from what was shown for it in the teaser at the end. what i dont understand is why the father was so adament about the son, who was exposed to radiation, be kept from receiving any kind of medical help. the brother seemed to have it under control where no one except the doctor knew. and then the father goes and does what he does

I'm assuming their intention was to show how small time Vladimir and his crew were. If a buyer who can summon up $5 million near instantly to purchase some of the most highly controlled substances on the planet, and if said person APPEARS to be alone on top of a parking deck, he probably not only has some kind of backup, but would probably be capable of wiping out your entire gang in one fell swoop for screwing around with him.

Oh, that was only about 4 minutes? because it felt like it took for fucking ever...

the first half hour of this episode may be the most boring 30 minutes of TV, much less 24, ever.

why didn't the terrorists just remote detonate the bomb anyway? why make the boy go through the trouble of reconfiguring it? I guess so he could save face, that must be it...

oh...and for your convenience, we installed an LED countdown clock so you know just how much time before the bomb goes off. haha

those were my thoughts as well. the other thought i had was that maybe being inside the oxygen chamber would block the arming signal from reaching the vest. it had been armed when he was only out of the chamber.

the thing that bothered me about that sequence was the fact there were dozens of CTU agents all around but yet not one of them was a bomb technician.. Jack had to be the one to disarm the vest? and what good that did. i mean they all knew this guy was wired up with C4 and they couldnt get a bomb tech there in all that time they had? def calling shenanigans on that..

Having the bomb go off was a dumb ass idea. There should be no 60 second count down, what was he going to do when he got into the hospital the first time? Sit there for 60 seconds and not do shit? Also I hope Dana Walsh dies, I'm sick of this storyline. I've like Prinze Jr, but the entire storyline needs to be forgotten. Nothing has really happened in at least 3 episodes that has any input into the main plot.

This season definitely hasn't been as bad as Season 6, but Season 7 I thought was pretty good and the start of Season 8 was good, but it is losing some steam now. The writers have done a lot of storylines and it really is hard to keep things fresh. I hope they send the show out with a really good ending few episodes though. They really do need to tie up some storylines like Tony Almeida, Charles Logan, that group of people that was behind it all last season, etc.

best episode of the season i thought. i was starting to get bored with it but last night made it kind of exciting.... definitely didn't see that coming at the end...nice twist.

i thought cole and jack were going to get locked in that vault when they were investigating near the end

i had a gut feeling that the dude wasnt killed when he was "helping" the girl escape; it just seemed too easy after everything that had happened up to that point. i didnt expect the EMP though at the end, that was pretty badass.

altho, like the suicide vest bomb, i have problems with the sequencing. i mean the girl shows up at CTU and when they realize what is happening they run out to the car, find the wires and see the clock ticking down where it's already at 16 seconds. so the bad guys knew exactly how long it'd take for her to get to CTU? accounting for traffic, stoplights, etc? sorry not buying it. and how could they know for sure that she would get to CTU in time for the EMP to go off and disable all their equipment? i feel like the writers are taking a lot of liberties this season and not thinking these things through; it's almost like they have gotten lazy, as compared to past seasons, and just dont care.

i figured the bad guys had a GPS on the car and when she got close to CTU, they just activated the detonation sequence of the bomb...

considering they had mechanisms to remotely detonate the other bomb, it isn't that far fetched...

A mole? Really? They made Katie Sackhoff into a mole inside CTU? That's original. I suppose the writers thought they were being clever by throwing us off the trail for the first half of the season by giving her the most ridiculous plot lines in the history of a show chock full of ridiculous plot lines.

I'm so glad this is the last season, I don't know how much more of this shit I could put up with. I suppose the main storyline this year hasn't been that bad, but it surely hasn't been very good either. If this is the best they can come up with they really do need to hang it up.

i really thought dana was going to try and sabotage chloe's attempt at fixing the computers. especially after hastings said, "dana, you stay down here and help chloe while i'm up in my office"...

and it also seemed really easy for renee to find jack and cole...

so far in less than 24 hours, jack has been sprayed a little by a shotgun, had the ever-living crap beat outta him by a NYPD, electrocuted by some russians, and shot a couple times in the chest (albeit while wearing a bullet proof vest). next episode he will be up and running like a champ...

yeah, as usual, the complete 180 of one of the main characters makes absolutely no sense. I don't think any of her actions up to now, at least when inside CTU, make any coherent sense with her being a traitor. Even the way she she was conflicted when thinking about killing her POS ex vs. how cold blooded she was when she killed Milton doesn't make sense. Oh, and strangling him and stuffing him inside the wall ducts? yeah, brilliant idea....

im getting really close to just saying screw it for the rest of the season its gotten to be so ridiculous. the whole "trailer park trash whore" now "mole" is really stupid and lame. i guess the writers had no choice but to give her some sort of decent part after the she and Ortiz killed her ex and his friend and that story basically came to an end, minus the Parole Officer. and who else sees Ortiz having to kill his fiance Dana/Jenny because he finds out she is a mole? that i feel i can guarantee lol. and for the gunfight at the dock, are you kidding me?? it's not even worth it to type. the more this season goes on and the more shitastic it becomes the more i think this needs to be the final season of 24; it has run its course and it is evident the writers just suck and dont care.

yeah, the gun fight was ridiculous..... they kept cutting back to it, and I was like "oh, 40 minutes in, and they're still firing automatic weapons at each other at the rate of a couple hundred rounds a minute? And Jack et. al. are still just sitting there in one place and the terrorists are just sniping ("sniping", with machine guns) from the same place, for a full fucking hour? And all of this is just so they can go reach that phone? And no cops have showed up? And it only too Renee 10 minutes to find them?"

And what the hell was with the whole NSA thing?
1) Jack called a buddy, and the guy didn't really seem to think it was a big deal that CTU just got blown up. He treated it as kind of a nuisance, and like he was doing Jack a favor by simply listening to him.
2) When NSA showed up at said blown up CTU, Hastings treated it like a burden. As in "yeah, my entire department was just blown up, but it's not like we need any help or anything. why don't you just leave us alone!"
3) usually the President is contacted every time Jack Bauer crosses the street, but nobody thought it was a good idea to contact the White House when CTU was almost destroyed?
