he is definitely in the wrong for mouthing off during the race, especially at such a crucial part. i would be interested to know the reason they called him in for a second pit. i would be pretty furious too. also, he didn't make a mistake because he was mouthing off, webber continued his shitty day by spinning him out and what not.

it's interesting when a race in won so easily by being the first one to switch to slicks. good for button.

Hamilton hasn't shown that he can conserve tires. He drives them too hard early and even if he had done a strategy like Button he wouldn't have made it to the end.

^repeating what the announcers assumed during the race doesn't count as an explanation.

nobody ever said that his tires were worn out. i refuse to believe he was the only driver on saturday who was that hard on his tires once they came off of intermediates.

HE said his tires were shot. his second set. It was about a lap after he got right on Alonso's tail.

F1 to return to the US in 2012!

...possibly in New Jersey!

Quote :
"Formula One chief hopes to bring grand prix to New Jersey

MILAN — Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone said he hopes there will be a grand prix auto racing in New Jersey in 2012.

In today's Gazzetta dello Sport, Ecclestone said he wants a grand prix in the New York area with the skyscrapers of Manhattan in the background.

"(It would be) in front of Manhattan in New Jersey, with the skyscrapers in the background," Ecclestone. "Fifteen minutes from the center of New York to the circuit would be marvelous."

There hasn't been a grand prix in the United States since 2007, when Lewis Hamilton won in Indianapolis to signal the end to eight years at the circuit.

Before that, Phoenix hosted three grand prix from 1989 to 1991, while Watkins Glen in upstate New York hosted the F1 from 1961 to 1980"

I realize the article is dated over a month ago but I haven't seen any other mention of this. If you think about it, a race in NJ just across the river is a fantastic place to have it. Near a major metropolis and with the infastructure to handle the crowds.

highest population of Italians, of course, so Ferrari should be on board for this

I lived Indy 'cause my extended family lives there so it was cheap for me to go, no hotel, etc

^^that wasn't really his fault (though I'm no fan of Hamilton's).

Has anyone else noticed in the last few races that towards the end when the cars are light on fuel Alonso's Ferrari seems to be noticeably faster?

Monaco GP!

Poor Alonso... He was going well on Friday's practices...
Congrats to Kubica for the 2nd grid.

There is a rumor that Webber is going to Ferrari next year and Massa contacted Red Bull...
I WANT RAIKKONEN BACK!

Raikkonen has visited Monaco, too

"BREAKING: Formula One coming to Austin, Texas in 2012
by Damon Lavrinc (RSS feed) on May 25th 2010 at 1:41PM

After a three-year hiatus, Formula One is coming back to the states in 2012 and the city that's been chosen to host the World Cup of Motorsports? Austin, Texas. Yes, Austin.

According to the release from F1, the race will be held in the city from 2012 to 2021, and since Austin doesn't have a race track, a facility will be purpose-built to host the events"

With a good track and a good production team it'll be fine...they ran at Watkins Glen for nearly twenty years with no issues until the cars got too fast for the layout, especially Turn 5.

Fantastic race today. Vettel's an idiot.

^lol.

I did some catching up yesterday afternoon. Spent my time avoiding the heat watching the Turkish Gran Prix (thank you DVR) and then the race in Canada. Both good races, especially the Canadian GP. Wow!

Ferrari's performance has been so so, but very entertaining races.

Also, I want to see more of Hamilton's gf Nicole

So the thing with Barrichello and Schumacher... aren't they not supposed to cross that line where the cars exit the pits anyway? Or does that only apply for cars exiting the pits cannot cross the white line until it ends.

only that part. you can cross it all day long unless you are exiting because while exiting you are going much slower, and the cars will not expect you to dart out infront of them

but it seems he is staying in WRC next year.. but who knows..

He said that he would never drive Renault because of the incident last week.

Kimi's people contacted Renault about possibly driving for them next year. Renault publicly says they've been contacted. Kimi says he didn't and takes offense that Renault would use such a thing to try and get more sponsors/$$$/backing. Renault again says they've been contacted by Kimi's people.

Vettel fucked up at Spa but other than that, his car let him down too often. I think he deserves to be champion.
