was this sarcasm or are you that dumb?
speaking of dumb...where can I find this K2 substance? I think I might have to try it out seeing as it's legal and all.
I figured Kitsch, Curious Goods or Buddhas Belly would have it but I wanted to make sure before I drive my ass over there.

I tried something from the Expressions in Chapel Hill that they refer to as "herb." It's marketed as incense, but they know everyone smokes it. I know that Hazmat has the Spice stuff.
Apparently I had some sort of reaction to the stuff from Expressions. I've seen my boyfriend and his friends on it, and they were pretty chill, like pot. When I smoked it, I tripped balls. I've done Shrooms before and this was nothing like that. My whole world exploded and then folded in on itself.
My boyfriend said I was non-responsive for a good ten minutes, breathing fine, but I just stared at him in abject terror. After the hallucinations, he moved me to lay down so I wouldn't fall, and I remember seeing him and I could understand what he was saying, but I could not respond. I couldn't move or speak, only stare. Then, after about thirty minutes, I started throwing up, and then I slept it off for a few hours.
That's just my experience, though, like I've said, I've seen several folks on it and they were fine.
Sorry for the [words.] 2/23/2010 8:35:11 PM |

Tried Magic Silver last night, and I have to say that I was quite pleased. Got it from curious goods. It was expensive though, $32 and change after tax for 1 gram. It did however last longer than I thought, 3 of us couldn't even use half of it. You could probably order it online for a lot cheaper.
No negative residual affects afterward. It was a little "spicy" (best way I can describe it) to smoke, but nothing terrible.

I've heard about this stuff for a while now, but have never tried it. I smoke weed about once a month, only in certain situations. I don't like buying it or carrying it on me b/c I don't want to risk getting drug charges. This seems like a cool legal alternative. The whole part about it being sprayed with chemicals and originally used as incense kind of scares me though. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Is there a preferred way to smoke this stuff or can it be smoked in any fashion? 3/25/2010 1:10:43 PM |

Finally smoked some of this stuff last night. I bought the K2 Standard. It was like $30 for 3 grams. Got a huge body high off the stuff and a slight mental high. It was a little harsh b/c of the spice in the herbs. Overall, if you want to get high every now and then and have to worry about drug tests, this would be a good alternative. 5/6/2010 12:45:29 PM |

Me and a buddy smoked half of it last night and were waayyyyy high. So for one person it would last a good while. I guess one would smoke it a little faster than marijuana b/c you have to smoke more of it, longer to keep a good high. 5/6/2010 12:55:26 PM |

Despite the "not for consumption warning," the DEA has banned the sale of products like K2, which contain herbs and spices sprayed with a synthetic compound chemically similar to THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
As of today, the Drug Enforcement Agency has banned "fake pot" substances, which use chemicals to purportedly replicate the effects of marijuana. Those substances had been in a legal limbo, with many states lacking laws to deal with them.
The DEA says the chemicals have provoked reactions that include seizures and hallucinations, and that they pose a threat to public health and safety.
In a Newscast spot, Greg Allen has more details:
At least 16 states have already adopted their own bans on the herbal products laced with chemicals that the makers claim mimic the effects of THC — the active ingredient in marijuana.
Since last year, poison control centers across the country have taken more than 3,000 calls related to the synthetic marijuana products, which are sold under names like K2 and Spice.
The five chemicals banned are synthetic cannabinoids. The DEA says they have not been approved by the FDA for human consumption. Some emergency rooms have reported that users experience side effects including anxiety attacks, elevated heart rates, vomiting, even convulsions.
The DEA is banning the chemicals for at least a year while it studies a permanent ban.
The drug agency lists the five banned substances on its site as JWH-018, JWH-073, JWH-200, CP-47,497, and cannabicyclohexanol.
A college professor helped to create one of the first and most famous of the cannabinoids in the 1990s, when he was conducting research on possible medical applications of marijuana.
Within a few years, Clemson University chemistry professor John Huffman's formula for the cannabinoid JWH-018 was published in the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
Soon after, products made from Huffman's formula found their way into Europe's party scene. And then they migrated to America in recent years.
Huffman has always warned people not to smoke any products containing the chemical. In 2009, he repeated that warning in an interview with The State newspaper: "Do not use this stuff," he said. "We don't know how toxic it is."
Announcing the ban, DEA Administrator Michele M. Leonhart said, "Young people are being harmed when they smoke these dangerous 'fake pot' products and wrongly equate the products' 'legal' retail availability with being 'safe.'"
Despite the ban, it seems likely that some manufacturers will try to adapt their formulas so they include cannabinoid chemicals other than the five banned Monday. " |

Given that you quite frequently break the law as it is (more than likely), it makes little sense to structure control of your own mind around what this fucked up society has deemed is correct. All you need to do is examine the contradictory and anti-empirical nature of our drug code to realize it's all about $ and control.3/1/2011 4:55:18 PM |

I'm surprised the DEA hasn't tried to arrest anyone for selling these drugs under the Federal Analog Act. I guess that "not intended for human consumption" statement is enough to cause them problems.

no, I just know the "not for human consumption" bit is how research chemical stores get around selling drugs that are FDA scheduled but not DEA scheduled. I don't see that statement holding up against the DEA though, because it doesn't do shit for protecting MDPV and Mephedrone sellers.
The "not for human consumption" bit was in my first post. I had to google the MDPV abbreviation. 3/1/2011 6:23:07 PM |

A law that goes into effect Wednesday bans the synthetic drugs, which mimic the effects of marijuana and cocaine. Officials say one of the ingredients in bath salts was responsible for the deaths of two North Carolina State University students in October 2010.
Under the new law, ingredients in bath salts are Schedule I controlled substances, meaning they have a high potential for abuse. Spice chemicals will be classified as having a low potential for abuse.
A spokeswoman for the Jacksonville Police Department says officers have advised businesses to expect strict enforcement of the new law." |

my friend's store in Durham had been doing well selling this stuff. (it supplemented his vinyl sales quite nicely, lol).
they're actually working on another synthetic that's derived from chocolate, so the only means of outlawing that would be to ban chocolate completely. despite the attempt of this statute to encompass all former and forthcoming synthetics, it would be impossible to enforce if they were able to produce a synthetic from that legal substance (ie. intent) 6/1/2011 4:29:57 PM |
