^^^^^ Natty Greens is the shit. One just opened up off of Glenwood last night and if the Greensboro one is as good as that one, that's where I'd watch a game/eat food/drink beer.

BTW we will win this whole damn thing over Clemson->FSU->Maryland->Duke, and get a 10 seed and lose by 30 in the tourney.

I like where your head is at.

Also instead of Lowe ripping off his suit to reveal a 1983 jersey and taking to the court, how about he rips off his suit to reveal a flaming basketball tattoo full body tattoo that spurs the team onto victory?

As a former Greensboro resident, here's my list (which looks a lot like Kevin's):

-Natty Green's (good beer and food)
-M'Coul's (stick to the beer)
-Elizabeth's Pizza
-Green Burro
-Fincastle Diner
-most places on Tate, except NYP because the food sucks and it's only good if you want cheap crappy beer and there's an ok band playing
-Old Town (on UNCG campus, next to Yum Yum's which is also good, we had all our grad school happy hours there)
-and for old timer's sake, Stamey's

Places to avoid:
-JP Looney's
-Green Street
-really any club in Greensboro. i really don't like the city outside the UNCG area and parts of Elm
-and the worst 2 places known to man...The N Club and Christy's. DO NOT RIDE ON THE CHRISTY'S BUS.

that would be the Burro...and they were out of the 24oz cans when i went there last Friday night...not sure if they are brining it back or not.

also, they started charging $3 cover after 10pm to make up for the people that dont go there anymore since they got busted by the firemarshall for the umpteenth time.

Now? When didn't it?

There's also a Pour House right off McGee St. that I like, might be a bit less crowded than the Natty Greene's area.

I went to Greene Street for New Year's in 2008. The Breakfast Club played and some drunk cougar woman kept buying us champagne all night. Honestly haven't been back since, but that was a good time. But in general, I agree. Clubs suck.

My favorite spot in Greensboro is the corner of Walker and Elam -- down where Blind Tiger, Fishbones, Filling Station, etc is. It literally just pops right up in the middle of a neighborhood area. If you're looking for a cool/unique spot to spend an evening, I'd say head there.

^you have just given me my lunch destination today. Filling Station FTW. thank you.

^^^^pour house is OK. its a lot of UFC meatheads and affliction shirts paying $1.25 to see who can punch this punching bag machine game the hardest.

you wont find many girls there.

Love some Filling Station. The one in Winston on Fourth Street is awesome too.

Another thing to love about that Walker/Elam spot is the hot dog man that shows up late-night. He'll cook you a hot dog right on the spot, and it's actually good as hell.

gotickets.com, fees are about 10 bucks a ticket (over 4 tickets)

they also shipped from raleigh, so maybe local pickup and reduce fees (but I couldn't find any info)

edit: looks like all of the great miami section deals have been swiped up, but seems like there are end seats for 50 that could be decent. I got mine for 30 bucks before the fees! $75 face

so hypothetically if we were to win the ACC tourney, would their already be a set schedule where we knew what time all 4 of our games would be? Or would the 2nd and 3rd round games depend on what other teams won?

ladies and gentlemen....kevmcd86...the know all end all of Greensboro. Like there is anything to do in that hell hole anyways. Anyways we got our tickets for 23 before fees the section over from the state section. 211. I believe when you get 6 tickets together and you split the cost of the fees it is worth it. GO PACK!

edit: there's barcodes on each ticket for each session, which makes me think that you won't be able to scan it again to get in if you leave. also, this helps the ACC keep people in their seats for games they may not really care about.

this is my conjecture.

I understand it's been like that for years..however, when the ACC expanded, we got rid of the ACC play in game b/w the bottom 2 teams in teh conference. Now that we have an expanded tournament, they should air all the games on national tv like the Big East has been doing this week, or like how the Big 10 is doing today.
