Holli performed better than I thought she would but I still think Jay was a better choice to run a kitchen. IDK what Ramsey was thinking. Oh well, on to the rest of Top Chef and Master Chef.

Yeah, Holli winning was a shock for me. I'm usually able to guess who the winner will be when it's down to the last two, but this time I was surprised. It was also interesting that Chef Ramsay bought the two of them a trip to Australia... Think they finally hooked up the night it became just the two of them?

I called this one (to myself).

Holli may not have been the best in the "run the pass" test during the final four, but she has been the most consistent competitor during the whole show, probably won the most challenges for her team/herself and played the game with a lot more tact than her shit-talking cohorts. Ben was a good cook, but seemed a little unstable and when he got totally uncommunicative in the kitchen, you could see how he would become one of those chefs who would drag down his whole restaurant because of his ego. Bluejay was also sort of a dick and had the ego going on, and I think what it came down to was that Holli is the sort of chef that Ramsey can mold into his own image, whereas Ben and Bluejay would be more stubborn and less receptive to change in their styles.

Holli needed the job more than Jay, and the producers realized that if they ended this season with Jay winning, they may lose their ratings next season because of predictability. It was a smart choice for the show's continued ratings, but Jay was the best cook this season.

I think Holli was much more consistent, I do not remember her having more than 1 bad service, which can not be said for anyone else (that was there for more then 1)

I am glad she won, who knows maybe she will hire Jay as her sous chef or something.

Jay really did have better cooking skills. Holli wasn't bad, but Jay really had the better kitchen management skills. Like he knew how to read his staff and treat them accordingly. For example he knew that Jason responded poor to yelling so he "babied" him a bit to get shit done.

Holli just seemed kinda everywhere.
