Height: 5'3"

Weight: 131 lbs

Workout Routine: i cycle just about every Sat morning, usually anywhere from 20-45 miles and sometimes on Sundays. Lots of stair climber & occasional yoga & spin class

Typical Diet:
Breakfast: usually plain oatmeal w/ raisins or 2 eggs with pepper on an english muffin with light butter. i drink 4 cups of coffee about 2-3 times a week

Lunch: varies wildly! when i'm on the road for work i try to stick to sushi or sandwiches, when i'm home it is usually pizza, sandwich or sushi or sometimes fatty mc fatfat shit i get dragged into (cheese burgers, fried shrimp, bbq, mac n cheese etc etc)

Dinner: spinach, yogurt & fruit smoothie when i'm kinda hungry, some times soup, kashi frozen pizza, annies mac n cheese, popcorn. i'm a weird dinner eater.

Diet Pitfalls: i need to drink more water, i'm constantly working on this but the upshot is that the only other thing i ever drink is coffee & alcohol. i probably drink 3-4 times a month, maybe. its usually when im on the road (see a trend here?) and it's red wine, beer is more rare but i will order from time to time. i'm a sugar whore, i LOVE dessert and will get it with lunch when i'm on the road at a restaurant. i have a major sweet tooth. i do a good job of keeping the crap out of my house but its hard to resist when i'm out! also i admit that i hit up mcdonalds breakfast more times than i'd like when i travel. my issue is that i'm in BFE louisiana and there isn't anything better. i'm going to cut back at least 50% to start out by bringing my own stuff and making this smoothie in the morning with my magic bullet (coffee, banana, peanut butter, protein powder & ice--- SOO GOOD). also i need to avoid french fries & onion rings more, i am weak!

The Plan: continue my current workout routine but add insanity to the mix. the dvds should be here soon and i will aim for everyday since i can take it with me when i'm traveling and don't need any equipment. i'm also going to add in swimming since i have a triathlon at the end of june.

Here is my before pic. It was taken back in Feb but I still look about the same. I will take a proper before pic when I get insanity and will post that one with my "after" pic later on

Here's a few of me from last year and this year. I put them in the P90X thread, but honestly any progress I make right now is very miniscule and tough to see from month to month. Good luck to Mr. or Mrs. Beach Body though.

This looks like a fun workout, I may try it.

Quote :
"Butler's training for 300 simultaneously built muscle, increased muscular endurance, and stripped fat fast. To achieve movie muscles that pop, he and other cast members used this grueling, unorthodox 300-rep rite of passage.

For a Spartan-sized challenge to your daily routine, consider this your new fitness gauntlet:

a) Pullups - 25 reps
b) Deadlifts with 135lbs - 50 reps
c) Pushups - 50 reps
d) 24-inch Box jumps - 50 reps
e) Floor wipers - 50 reps
f) Single-arm Clean-and-Press with 36lbs Kettlebell - 50 reps
g) Pullups - 25 reps

All exercises are done without scheduled rest between moves. Obviously this is an advanced workout...you shouldn't do it unless you are already in great shape."

So, I guess consider this my goal:

Yeah, no idea how they got those doing that.

I think it may have something to do with the floor wipers.

Well, yeah those are an ab exercise. There's also the consideration that proper push ups require holding the plank position, and the fact that you are supposed to hold your abs tight doing deadlifts. Honestly, in order to get a six pack all you need to do is get the fat off your midsection. If you want really big abs then yes, you need to add weighted movements, but most folks aren't looking for that.

hahaha

let me clarify.. my cycling club hosted a picnic after our ride this morning and the bbq was catered. there was a table with delicious looking chocolate & coconut (my fav! ahh) brownies & red velvet cake

i stuck with the meat n fixins

but actually yes it is very normal for bbq establishments to have dessert tables and the banana pudding comment is spot on

and yes its normal to eat bbq buffet style

-Beef jerky
-All beef hot dog with ketchup
-Tall "Mudslide" from Gloria Jean's Coffee

and who knows what I'll have for dinner, but I'm starving right now.

I can't upload my photos. You guys need to tell me the layman way of how to do this.

That being said I want to join. I work out an average of 3-5 days a week. In high school I played a lot of sports. I feel as if I hit a plateau. I am 6ft 3 180 pounds. My long term goal is to be 6ft 3 205 to 210. I have about 12 percent body fat right now. My problem isn't necessarily my workouts but I do feel like I can work myself out a little harder. My nutrition could be way better. I LOVE food, and southern food at that. Once you guys teach me how to get the 4 photos out of my gallery onto here I am ready to go. Thanks.

I know, my diet is awful, and it's the one issue that I've never really been able to compromise on. I love food, and I'm active enough that it doesn't really affect me (yet).

I'm not sure what happened to my hamstring, but I think it was from a hyperextended kick in soccer. It's injured right at the spot where my hamstring meets my buttocks (think the fold of the bottom of the buttock) on my right leg. I just finished an outdoor season, so I can finally let it heal. I've been in physical therapy for the past month as well.

I would love to do some running to supplement my strength training, but I can't until this thing fully heals. I've learned my lesson about ignoring pain.

Rode the stationary bike for an hour today, did just over 20 miles on it, 630 calories. Followed that up with some light weightlifting:

3x10x135 bench press
3x10x26 1 armed kettle bell clean and press (each arm)
3x15x34 kettle bell swings
3x10x25 dumbbell incline press
2x25x50 kneeling cable crunches

Breakfast this (late) morning:

2 eggs scrambled with 1/4 of an orange bell pepper
1 whole wheat english muffin w/ 1 tbsp. blueberry preserves
1 banana
1 liter of water

Dinner:

6 oz. blackened tuna steak
1 cup brown and wild rice
12 oz. steamed broccoli
1 liter of water
2 servings of cell mass post workout recovery stuff

Later dinner/snack (I'll probably eat again around 9)

1 baked sweet potato
can of tuna
1 liter of water

Drank 2 liters of water during workout as well.

^^^

- open pic from your photo gallery
- right click
- copy the properties (it will be a url link)
- use [ image ][ /image ] tags and paste the link in between the two tags (without the spaces, i had to do that to show you what i meant or it thinks im posting a pic)
- if you want to get fancy, change the .jpg from your pic link to .JPG to show bigger photos (this only works for tww hosted pics)

make sure you use new tags for each picture

hope this helps

my diet is pretty awful as well, but getting much better. i'm a big fan of spinach so i'll make various kinds of salad with it throughout the week. i also love potatoes but i've been switching out my usual for sweet potatoes lately. trying to get more fruits in during the day, having that with cereal or yogurt in the morning and skipping the ease of driving through chick-fil-a. my weakness is snacks and sodas really. i tend to eat when i'm bored or sad but definitely using more restraint! i know some people can eat crappy and not notice a difference, but i definitely feel it in my sleep and energy levels. and i can see a difference, especially in my face and waist area.

I will get in on this... I need to get rid of some belly fat which is obscuring my abs and develop my chest/biceps.

I do intense cardio/core training 2 hours a week and run a few miles once in a while

Eat ok - some healthy food, but eat out a bit too. Beer is my biggest problem and is what will enable me to lose the most pounds if I would stop drinking it.

Workout today:

7 pullups
50 deadlifts with 90 lbs
50 pushups
50 floor wipers
50 single-arm clean-and-press with 20lb dumbell
2 pullups

So much for aceing the workout!

I finished with a 5 minute "sprint" on an elliptical machine at level 15.

twoozles, its not for everyone and some people can't have a smoothie as a meal but i make a spinach & fruit smoothie that is really yummy! for me, its a great way to get in a ton of veggies & fruit at the same time.

i use a magic bullet and what i do is mix together frozen fruit (cheaper! or i'll cut up apples & bananas that are going bad & put them in ziplocks in the freezer for smoothies later. frozen fruits make the smoothie more smoothie like without adding ice), oj, vanilla yogurt (i buy the little tub over the individual's bc its cheaper), spinach & protein & fiber powder

i like to add A LOT of spinach so i usually make 2 smoothies and mix them together in a huge beer stein & drink it with a straw. i will do this for dinner and i find it very satisfying & delicious.

dairy can inhibit iron absorption so i should prob leave the yogurt out but i don't put much in. vitamin c helps you absorb the iron if you eat them together (hence why the smoothie is so bomb!) and it gives you the maximum effect of the iron if the vitamin c is in the gut with it. also soda can interfere with iron absorption so if you want the nutrients in the spinach you love, try not to consume with the soda you also enjoy

I don't want to hijack the thread, but basically women need more of it because they bleed out every month. Men don't really lose iron so they risk iron overload if they seek out extra sources of it or supplements.
