the guy is not funny.........AT ALL

he's a complete toolbag that loves the sound of his own voice and he thoroughly enjoys ripping on everyone

http://www.sportable.com/2007/04/06/top-ten-reasons-to-hate-colin-cowherd/

my personal favorite:

5. He’s a pompous arrogant assclown. Look Colin, I understand that there are a lot of radio personalities that get away with being a bad person, but you can’t pull it off. All you do is demean people, so cut the crap and stop acting like you’re above everyone. ESPN employee? Yes. Blubbering jackass? Yes.

as has been said, i hate how he refuses to give credence to callers' opinions unless they parrot what he says

i like to listen to sports talk radio to hear different opinions, not militant attitudes because people don't agree

So who is your sports talk go to guy. Personally I would rather listen to Herd than MIKE^2, Stephen a. Smith, SVP and most others. At least he goes out on the limb a little. I like Dan Patrick the most, but Herd keeps it creative and he is better than .500 most years picking college football lines. Money in the bank!

depends on your options...Mac Attack isn't bad from 6-10am if you get it...even though Mac is spineless, Celania is hilarious, and the show is pretty good...and while some would disagree because they sound like radio retards, the Frank and Buck Show from 12-3 is good, in the sense that both of them played many years in the NFL (Frank Garcia and Brenston Buckner) and therefore they have a perspective that none of the armchair radio nerds have, since they actually played in the league...and sticking with the 610AM lineup in Charlotte, Primetime with the Packman certainly brings a lot of different views...even if Packman himself is usually deadset in his opinions...he always has co-hosts and callers who disagree, and unlike some other shows, he doesn't cut off every caller after 20 seconds and say "and I appreciate the call" and then ignore what the caller says

i prefer local broadcasts for the simple reason that they discuss local sports, college and pro, and most of my affiliations to sports teams are in NC

i don't necessarily always agree with their opinions, but i don't care so much to hear what's going to be on ESPN at some point anyway...i like hearing about NC State more often!

asshole just had a Celtics radio announcer on his show, the whole time he kept egging him on saying shit like, "doesnt it feel like the Lakers are the better team in this series? doesnt it feel that way to you?". The guy just kept responding by saying that the tide shifts after every game and after the next game we could be saying the same thing about the celtics, its too early to call the lakers the better team.

Once they got done with the interview Colin said, "it sounds to me that Stephen Perkins (*I think that was his name*), Celtics radio voice and retired jersey for the Celtics, is leaning towards the Lakers, like all smart people are doing this morning"

never once did the guy make it sound like he said the lakers are the better team. Colin is such an assface

He has the day off today, so his show is much more bearable

Not that Erik Kuselias is the best host ever, but less annoying than Herd

gahh he's terrible. He fills in for Mike and Mike and I usually watch that when I wake up before going to work. I really dont like Mike Greenberg and can tolerate Golic but its really the only sports show on morning TV at that time.

unlike colin cowherds choad replacement who thought the us has 2 (or nearly 2) scoreless draws.... fucking idiot, then he was saying how he watched the last match....

dude you're supposed to be watching or at least KNOW the scores for all 3 games... not a lot going on right now, i think you could take the 5 min to at least have the scores in front of you before you go spouting off the wrong results

ah yeah, how could I forget about Jim Rome. Rome and Cowherd are the worst of the worst

the only person affiliated with espn that I hate more than Cowherd, Rome and Plaschke is Mike fucking Patrick. I dont understand how that idiotic assclown Mike Patrick continues to get work on espn, he literally is the least knowledgeable person working for that network - possibly in all of sports. what sucks the most about him is that he always seems to commentate the ACC and Big Ten football and basketball games (i.e. the games I watch the most). Just thinking about him pisses me off, I literally have hatred in my soul towards Mike Patrick

I actually quite enjoy his show, but as has been said I can completely understand the opposite opinion. I will say I appreciate that he obviously puts a lot of prep time into his show each day and his topics are fun to debate. I definitely do not always agree with him, but what fun would it be to listen if I did?

To compare his to Rome is unfair, for there is truly no more pompous asshole in the history of mankind than he.

I have watched Sportsnation a few times. I found it decently watchable. Yet, what is the point exactly. Is it just to see what other fans think on particular topics?

I actually like his show.

I don't always agree with him. But I like how he relates issues in sports to issues in real lives. He's also one of the only people on espn that recognizes how regionalized each sport is (football everywhere, baseball NE, basketball out west etc..)

but the other times...ugh...it seems like every other sports radio host i disagree with its just for the opinion on that particular subject...with cowherd, its a differing opinion + a douchebag"

^^i dont mind sportsnation...its his radio show that often gets on my nerves

^^^i only listen to him on occasion if i'm not in my car but sports radio is on, because sometimes, a bad sports talk show is better than no sports talk...but in my car i have the option of so much more stuff (XM, etc)...the WFNZ lineup in Charlotte, up until about 6-8 months ago was:

6am-10am The Mac Attack
10am-11am The Four Horseman (Mac and Jim from the Mac Attack, Frank and Buck)
11am-3pm The Frank and Buck Show

then i guess they either figured that 5 combined hours of each show (venn diagram style) was overload of those shows...or maybe the talent themselves were like "we dont want to work this many hours" so they got rid of the Four Horsemen, reduced Frank and Buck by an hour, and they pump in Coward's feed from 10am-noon

if i wanted to listen to Herd I could, on the ESPNRadio XM channel, but I still had the option to listen to local stuff all day...and Herd was fine if you only flipped to his channel for the few minutes the local shows go to commercial

So not to make excuses, but I listen by accident

I agreed with his point this morning, but holy shit the show didn't need 90 total minutes dedicated to how good looking mark sanchez is.

i disagreed with him this morning like 90% of his emailers, cause he kept saying Sanchez made some huge throws in the playoffs

he didnt even complete a pass of 20 yards or more, so I guess converting a 3rd and 12 makes you an all-world QB

Cowherd is such a USC homer though, I didn't expect any different...he's just now finally getting over his 8 year mancrush of Matt Leinart

Tree, I normally listen to Packman, listen to Mac Attack from time to time, but sometimes I have a hard time with Frank & Buck, due to the radio retard issue you brought up. It depends on the day. Now we have Jim Rome from 12-3 on 730 AM, the new sports station, so I tend to listen to him instead. It's pretty much Fox Sports Radio, with a couple local shows (that I haven't listened to).

They are an embarrassment to sports talk radio. It's painful to hear them both talk. Yarboro is solid (and he's a state guy), but they are terrible. I listen to Mac as well during the morning drive, I still miss his afternoon slot when it was Mac, T-Bone, and Gump.
