I'm gtrold on Lol. I've got about 18 wins under my belt, mainly been playing as Tristana from the start. I should probably try some other types of champions.

I usually have a positive record and one of the highest creep scores, but that doesn't always translate to a win. In a 3v3 yesterday, I ended the game 8-4 with twice as many creep kills as anyone else, but when I dinged 18, Master Yi (on my team) was only level 12 and had a record of 0-6. One person can (and often does) mean a loss.

Yi is always instant win on that map for me.

60 wins isnt much at all. we've had ppl on our team with 1200 wins go 0-10.

I've had an abnormal amount of games lately where i go 12-2 or better and still lose ...

I went 19-3-9 in a ranked game and lost yesterday...

pretty nonsense... in dota if you went 8-0 on the carry the game was over... you shouldnt beable to go almost 20-2 and not be able to 1v5 the other team.

it is a team game, not a "try to get one person on your team to last hit all kills so they can 1v5 a team" game. if your team sucks, you should lose.

it is plenty easy to compensate for 1 bad apple if the rest of your team is very good OR if the other team also has some worthless piece. that said, ive seen plenty of carries 1v2 or 1v3 with no problem if they've been fed like a monster. particularly against ppl without a lot of CC.

i mean, yeah, it sucks when you have the tard on your team, but that gives you more incentive to find a good group to play with. at least then you know you are getting outplayed rather than someone being incompetent.

happens to us a lot, but out of our 4, usually someone else is doing mediocre as well. i mean, ive gone anywhere from 0-10 to 18-2.

the best is with a pre-comp of 2. we tried going carry and got rocked because our tank was in the back and support was trying to carry. so we went tank/support...and got rocked cuz our dps was all 0-6. fun times. still a good game.

an infinity edge and 2 blood thirsters would have added more damage... much more infact. especially since im sure you were level 18, rapidfire pdancer and cleaver should put you very near speed cap. stack thirsters... build defensive is always a good option when you start playing people who are decent at the game

lol yeah i was wondering same thing. id probably build 1 of each type of weapon that builds off a BF sword before making a second (with the exception maybe being a bloodthirster on some heroes).

trist is alright, but i find her to be a poor choice compared to other ranged carries later on. maybe its just because i find her ult to be meh compared to arrow, ace in the hole, or the like.

I've definitely seen some improvements after taking some of the advice in this thread. My build lately has been vamp scepter, berserker's greaves, bloodthirster, phantom dancer, black cleaver, infinity edge, and another bloodthirster.

I played a game yesterday where I did pretty well, but I got owned multiple times by Evelyn. She'd just appear out of nowhere and rock me in a couple seconds. Probably should have gone with Mercury's treads. Evelyn seems like a good character to try out, though. That and Vladimir, lol

eve will usually be strong in games with newer players - but i wouldn't recommend her as anything worth learning for later on - she is easily shut down with a decent team and doesn't really offer much in team fights. - - - - if you guys are looking for a 5th send me a pm if i am on, i think i have added most of you... i am level 27 now.

So in you guys' opinion, what are some of the ranged carries that end up being better than Tristana in higher levels of play?

Also, when it comes to support champions, what are some of the best? Sona is awesome to lane with - seems like she'd be worth learning.

i think ashe is a strong choice. while she doesnt have as good of an escape ability, her arrow is global which is extremely useful, even if ur on the pad. she's also nearly impossible to run from given volley (ae slow, great farming) and her ice arrow. her E, while not great, is nice as a scouting tool for team fights or checking baron.

vayne also seems strong if played well. true dmg is such a beast for as many xins and the like you see around in later levels.

there's plenty of ranged magic heroes that seem pretty beast compared to her, though dont have the tower destroying capabilities she does.

^^ i personally love sona and think she is a great addition to the team. you can have +dmg/ap and +mr/armor on pretty much the entire team fight and she does decent dmg to boot. id say she's my favorite pure support character. plenty of decent dmg/supports tho. teemo always a good choice in my book for map awareness.

not true... eve is a top ban in high elo because of how devastating good eve players can be. Eve has a U shaped usability curve because she's an ultra pubstomper to new players... and she's massively effective used by the right people in ultra high elo. Ex. see reginald or bigfatlp play high elo... she's banned consistently after 2k rating bc.

the problem is no one from 1100-1600 is good enough to use her the right way. Now that roaming is becoming more prevalent that may change however. i concur that until you're very comfortable with game you should avoid eve save for the occasional game to get used to her skills.

taric sona and zilean are the strongest supports. I'd definitely suggest sona and zilean. Taric is strong but usually in a roaming capacity and i doubt many of ya'lls games has roamers etc. or 3 solo's capable of supporting a roamer trist carries very hard late game but she's tough to handle early-mid and doesn't offer much cc late game, so she requires a lot of set up to get dps going.

she has to have a good initiator on the team and navigate in when the rest of their team is all hurt. she's a good clean up crew as you can't really escape her

vayne seems very reliant on not being harassed early game. I have solo'd mid with MissFortune against vayne several times and shut her down fairly easily. don't get me wrong vayne seems to always pick up quite a few kills, but if you prevent her farm in the first 6-8 levels it seems to take away a lot of effectiveness. - - - - - maybe i stand corrected on eve but it seems there would still be better options for roamers. and i still don't see how she can be effective past mid game. i'll have to watch some replays

vayne can be good early on but she has to be played very offensive-minded.

the better eve's i've seen (any stealther really) is best in a solo queue. if they stun early to help get the kill and rack up some assists they can build out what they need faster and get to taking people out early. in solo queue they're less likely to agree on who should spend the money for an oracles and less people will buy them

roamer eve is devastating in higher ranked matches. She makes it very very hard on the enemy jungler/laners because any extension can result in a quick death. The times when i have my good 5 man pre-comp we run 3 solo lanes, 1 roamer and 1 jungle. This leads to 3v1/2 ganking from about the 4 minute mark on and if they play defensive to avoid it we can get 30-60% more laning farm as a result. This does require you have 1-2 capable of handling a 1v2 lane, a strong mid and a quick practiced jungle. That being said the last few times we've done this we held their entire team to < 20 CS each for the 1st 20 minutes mostly due to fear. (Got off i think 3 kills total before they warded up and tower hugged).

still sounds very situational and relies heavily on the 1v2 matchups going well. if the other team has picked well they should zone you out of the lane and deny your exp and cs. if they do this in both lanes it would force your jungle or roam or both back in lane just to gain any exp. to me it seems more likely that, for the same reasons invis heros were banned in dota, eve gets banned just because it's annoying and requires you to have a 2nd strategy to counter. - - - - but everyone seems to be agreeing that if eve is effective it has to be early game. if she hasn't caused any real trouble by mid game it was probably a wasted pick.

if they're denying you it should be pretty easy to get a 3v2 gank going on if you have a jungler and roamer.

i see more commonly a support babysitting a carry bottom in the and not hitting mobs at all.

I find TF is super strong late game. Do you build AD? If you build AP it's easy to mix in some tankyness with items like lichbane and banshee's veil without sacrificing face melt ability.
