honestly i wouldnt be that upset if it was just the one season because it was a great one season and it's been tying things together nicely at the end. we already know the who, what, where, why, and how. we just don't know the what now.

i think there should be alot more shows that are designed to be only one season. i know it isnt great job security for anybody involved but it's not much different than what we have now with the rate of cancellation.

Just finished watching the episode from Sunday and wow that was a stunner...GREAT hour of TV, the acting was impeccable all around and lots of subtleties to pick up on.

What? Cable shows are usually 13 episodes.

There's some miniseries still on TV but few of them are very good so I don't really think that's a sensible way of looking at things. Good shows hope for the best but prepare for the worst, I would be disappointed but not enraged if Rubicon doesn't get a second season, they had a good run and wrapped things up nicely in a wholly satisfying manner.

True, but I still like them closer to 20.

The penultimate episode was one of the best I've ever seen. This was a snoozer by comparison. It was uncomfortable watching Will start to be perceived as a crack by some of the others on the team.

I also dont understand the point of the girl that Will has been shacking up that was apparently watching him from the beginning. I don't understand her purpose at all.

i was happy where the show ended up at

can anybody answer me one question? why is the IT guy stuck in a cage??

I got the feeling that the terminal he is at has very special access, which is why it is physically separate from everything else. The cage allows people to converse with him person to person without having them actually have direct access to the terminal while near him.

pretty much how i feel as well. while they can do another season (everything is setup perfectly for another), they don't have to. but would still love a 2nd season! it has a small cult following and AMC doesn't have much else going on right now so they should renew for a 2nd, IMO anyway.

as for the finale, was hoping to see Spangler off himself but that didn't happen which surprised me considering he received the "mark of death" as i'm calling it haha. shame about Katherine Rhumor (sp?) tho, i was liking her. the DVD thing was cool, wasn't really expecting that. was way surprised to see David Haddas pop up after her husband was done and sucks we didn't get to hear what he had to say to Will.

Katherine Rhumor dying before actually giving Will the CD pretty much rendered her entire storyline pointless. I also wanted to see Clay Davis kill Truxton Spangler (or at least see him off himself). The reveal that Will's kinda GF was an agent of some sort was pretty lame and felt artificial and soap opera-y. All in all it was a pretty weak finale, though there were a lot of nice character moments.

ah that sucks, but wasn't surprising...I was curious to see what the writers could do with more procedural elements and less of the serialized conspiracy stuff.

I'm cool with it. It was a good show that was quite gripping in the thick of its story, but honestly had it become more procedural with weekly stories i probably would stop watching.

reading stuff about this show and AMC ratings made me realize that Mad Men's numbers aren't as good as I thought

^yeah it gets decent ratings but it's really more of a prestige show than a hit, I don't think it usually cracked the top 25 rated cable shows.

So is this show worth watching? Does it have an actual ending, or was it a cliffhanger? I've got all the episodes saved and was planning on going back and watching them someday, but now that it's been canceled, is it worth it, or should I just delete them?

Watch them. The wife and I loved this show. It can be a tad slow at times, but it's a well thought out series. I'm bummed they didn't re-up for season 2, but the ratings sucked.

Very good show. I have a few gripes about the last episode. First it was hasty and sloppy. Second several major storylines were left unresolved due to the cancellation ;(

Up until the last episode its all buttah.

I think it is one of the best slow burn dramas of all time. The tension that builds is awesome. Unfortunately, the show started off a little too slowly.

A&E should have enticed the viewer more to what was happening in the background from the first episode, and I think it would have kept viewers.

They should have also named the series something other than 'Rubicon'.

Anything else like this? I finally got a copy and am watching them back to back and love it. Problem, obviously, is it won't keep me entertained more than another day.

eh, you could give The Killing a try. It has a similar pacing, but it's about a murder instead of a government conspiracy.

The scene where Spangler mindfucks the room of politicians with the story about the tie is incredible.

Checkout a show called "The Shadow Line." It is a British mystery drama. It is similarly paced with lots of wheels withing wheels plot progression like Rubicon. I'm really enjoying it so far. I just finished watching the sixth episode.
