I need some work done, and I sent you a pm. I'm still awaiting a reply.

It should be easy and quick money.

LOL! Thank you so much! It was a pleasure meeting him and working on his Exploder for him!

The way I'm going these days, I might have to reciprocate and have him work on me!

Thought I'd repost this in Dan's other thread:

Just wanted to post a recommendation for zxappeal. He changed my car's brake pads and discs, brake fluid, clutch fluid, and engine air filter. He was very patient answering all my annoying questions while I stuck around learning from him. If you're also sticking around, he has some entertaining friends as well.

The only questions that are annoying are the ones I've already answered! My pleasure...

One thing I've found out is that a LOT of people here have '90-'97 Accords...the ones with "captured" front rotors that don't just slide off like the free floaters of other years. The hub has to be physically pressed apart...and yes, I do these all day long, but the labor on them is NOT cheap. You may want to shop around, get quotes from other shops just as a means of comparison.

this thread actually saved me like $400....i went to a shop yesterday (i wont name names) to get my oil change, tires rotated and brakes inspected, i had a coupon. they changed the oil and when they did the brake inspection they told me my brakes were extremely worn down. that metal was rubbing on metal and i needed to replace my front pads and rotors...cost would be $400 + tax. i said no because i remember this thread and knew you could probably do it for cheaper.

long story short, the shop tried to screw me over, my pads and rotors were totally fine, cost me $50 and 1.5 hours to do.

My rule of thumb is, if the car stops smoothly, FUCK replacing the rotors if they're a cast iron bitch to take off...and '90-'97 Honda Accord rotors are a real bitch. I don't replace them until the car shudders when stopping.

got some questions that may result in some work for you:

*These issues may be related; I'm not sure....

1) Gas mileage has dropped considerably. Used to get 17-23 MPG now it's been 10-17 MPG. Air filter looks fine, truck runs well (nothing obvious; well except for running rough/lower than normal RPMs when coming to a stop). I did just get new tires (went from 265x75x15 to 32x11.50x15) but I wouldn't think it would cause that large of a drop.

2) Where to go to have the computer updated for the new tire size?

3) Metallic scraping and squeak from left rear; tied to axle/wheel rotations it seems. Sounds just like a brake noise, though it happens when the brakes aren't being applied.... brake not fully releasing? parking brake issue?

4) Front brakes squeal like hell; almost always have. Checked within the last 5,000 miles and had plenty of pad left... any fixes/pad recommendations?

5) AC not always cold; blower really slows down when braking.

Interested in welding some cams? its gonna be a bitch. I got theses specs off a message board i use a lot.

Camshaft: Tool L6 - Special Purpose Low Alloy Tool Steel

Sprocket: SAE 3145 - Med-High Carbon Alloy Tool Steel
(I dont know what ^ means)

the camshaft is hollow too. I can provide some documentation from some previous welds if your interested.

Couple other things that need doin either way. Im trying to catch up on some maintenance with my tax returns. Cel and something that sounds like a bearing ticking when the motor is cold. Let me know if your interested.
