That's the because the patch is what enables online play. It hangs because their servers have been going up and down all day and it's getting stuck trying to connect.

It's apparently due to network overloads. There is a news note about it on the GT Life page in the game. They suggest disconnecting from your network as a work around.

I played this over the weekend at my parents house. But due to some graphic incompatibility between their TV (Samsung DLP 720p) and my PS3 I could only view the game in 480i

Since the graphics sucked I just played some arcade mode with my brother and completed Licenses A & B.

Also the forcefeedback for my steering wheel doesn't work, wtf?! It's a Logitech Driving Force wheel, which I do realize was designed for the PS2. However, it is a compatible wheel as far as I know. Has anyone else had problems with steering wheels?

At home I don't have an HD TV to spend a lot of time playing this game so I've only completed one race thus far But I bough a 1080p LCD last night and should have it by week's end

What car has everyone bought as their first in Career mode? I assume the Miata, though i considered the Civic Type R for a few minutes.

I bought a Miata first out of habit, but the '97 Civic is really just as good of a choice. I think I've only run one series in the Miata so far...but at least I have it for the Roadster cup.

Tuned it up a little for the Vitz events and it's actually not as terrible as I had expected. Had to go way overboard for my B-Spec driver to win with it, though.

Craziest moment, though, was watching my un-modified '62 Buick Special smoking Lambos and Ferraris in the supercar cup.

Yeah I'll get something decent. I've got around $55k right now and the Miata with intake/exhaust. I've done around 5 races and a few "specials".

Once we all get fairly established into this game we should start setting up a TWW racing lounge.
