It's not exactly half price. He bought 3 units for 3000 and sold me 2 for 2800. He was making $1000 on the units alone. Plus he would have gotten $1000 more for installing. That is way more than enough for a 6 hour install job. They are ductless a/c units. The $8000 price is taxes, business costs, business profit, labor, permit fees, travel time, blah blah blah. It's only a $2000 job in reality without the greed associated with it that I was paying $4000 for.

^ Some of those ductless systems are pretty cool. Knowing that you were supposed to get ductless systems, who ever quoted you something in the $15000 range was out to lunch.

Naaaahh.... $15000 would have been them scamming me to get rid of my 3 ton, 2.5 ton, and 2 ton units and buy one 4 or 5 ton unit, add installation, mark up, and a brand new air handler and rearrangement of the duct work would be closer to $15000 :-P

No it's still sitting in my hallway because if I install it, that means I can't get my money back because he can't take it back. Also it won't solve my heat problem. Also I want to wait for the money I get back to spend it on A/C work. If Feb comes and I haven't seen anything, then I'll get someone out while it's still cold outside and while A/C business is slow.



There is a chance that I'll get the money and get to keep the A/Cs, too, because I think he is scared to show his face around here.
