this trend began with carlos valderrama back in the 90s. just another washed up star that will do nothing or get hurt doing it.

So true. 2nd in all time league assists and voted to the all time league's best 11 in its 10th year. He did nothing.

not to mention the first MVP and one of the best passers in the history of the league. but yea, dude was a bust and a "washed up star." It's not like he was still starting for his country's world cup squad 2 years after he started playing in the MLS or anything.

I'm not even a huge MLS fan, but saying Calderrama did nothing in the MLS and was "washed up" by the time he got there is just funny.

henry would still start on most big teams in europe, he's definitely not washed up. he hasn't had his normal accolades lately because he's on barcelona, and they have 25 forwards on their team.

^5x Damn. El Pibe had almost as many assists as the leader in about half as many games. That's impressive, regardless of the league. I always loved watching him play, because he made it look so easy. 114 assists. I'm also noticing that Roy Lassiter had 88 goals. Coincidence?

And to say that Henry is washed up is pretty weak. The dude is about the same age as Kobe Bryant. He's not at the height of his career, but he's not some French bum off the street, neither.

Marquez might end up with NY too. Not bad to start a Barca pipeline.

^^^^^ haha, just read the article on the Real - Galaxy game. Loved this sentence:

Quote :
"The crowd held their breath with anticipation held as Ronaldo stepped up to take a free kick from 35 years out. Ronaldo blasted it over the wall and into orbit."

went to the Red Bulls vs Earthquakes game last night. great time. sat in the supporters section behind the goal. definitely more rowdy in that section compared to the rest of the stadium. dane richards was the man of the match with a goal and an assist to henry who got his first mls goal.

Haha, no shit. I was at the game too, in the same section nonetheless. Richards was fun to watch. If he had a little better decision making I think he could be playing in Europe.

I need to hit a Red Bulls game soon. Just moved to NJ, and I'm a big Arsenal fan, so it would be awesome to see Henry play in person.

lol who said he was a class act?

such a stupid play all around... why did he have to kick it in the goal? why did Hartman have to block it?
