curious to see how long Denard can keep up this level of performance. Hopefully he can continue to take the beatings and not get injured.

maybe the next two weeks, forcier and gardner can get more reps.

Denard has been damn impressive, but just remember how "great" Forcier was through 4 games last year.

OH BOY!! THAT MATTERS SO MUCH AFTER WEEK 2!! again, I honestly hope Michigan becomes a solid program again, I just don't see it happening under DickRod.

The parallels btw this year and last year are amazing. Week 1: solid win against non-conference opponent. Week 2: close win over ND. All while cock-chugging the newest QB sensation. Just remember what happened once conference play started: http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/id/130/year/2009/michigan-wolverines

its an interesting theory Damnit. Keep a couple things in mind though:

Denard is running a more "RichRod" style offense than he did last year, with the spread more focused on the run (QB mobility). Forcier wasn't much of a mobile threat.

The schedule this year is much tougher in the first two games. UConn is definitely a tougher draw than Western Michigan. And I'm much happier coming away with a victory from South Bend. Road victories shouldn't be underestimated.

Couple those factors with 3 relatively easy opponents next... and the Blue should be in a good position to actually get to that bowl this year... They will need to beat the Boilers or the Illini most likely.

I hope Denard stays healthy and can compete for a Heisman. But lets be realistic, when was the last Heisman winner to come from a team with more than 2 losses? I can't see Michigan doing that well in the National picture with the current defense. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

look forward to returning to the top of the big ten with your Bucks

oh i assure you it matters after week 2 both you guys...
denard wasn't even on the radar preseason and he's ALREADY at the top... thats the hardest thing to do, climbing to the top of it from nowhere... now he doesn't even need to over dazzle week by week as he did the first two games. just be efficient and keep winning.

keep whining though suck-eyes

THIS IS EXCITING

1. where was I whining?
2. I don't think any Michigan fans are allowed to call Buckeye fans anything other than "sir" since we've won the last 6.
3. Good for Denard, but if you think he can keep running the ball 25+ times as a QB in the BigTen, you've got another thing coming. Especially at his size.

michigan's offense is based solely on robinson. let's see what happens when someone can gameplan to slow him down.

that was pathetic... i dont see how a defense can be so bad... people will try to blame denard this time but thats crap when he is forced to throw the whole damn game cause michigan's defense is so terrible

I think in truth Michigan is not that good of a team. They probably would have lost by double digits to Notre Dame had Crist not gotten injured, and they very easily could have lost to Indiana. Sadly, they will still probably finish with only a few losses, and Rich Rodriguez will keep his job for yet another season of bumbling.

Michigan is improving. I think they're a solid contender for a bowl this year. The defense is bad, but it looks better to me than it did last year. I'm more of a believer now that RichRod can eventually make it happen in Ann Arbor.

Here's the remaining schedule with my preseason predictions:

Sat., Oct. 16 vs. Iowa (Homecoming) - W (I'll be there, have to win?)
Sat., Oct. 30 at Penn State - L
Sat., Nov. 6 vs. Illinois - W
Sat., Nov. 13 at Purdue - L
Sat., Nov. 20 vs. Wisconsin - L
Sat., Nov. 27 at Ohio State - L

Having seen some games this year... I'd say the next four will be crucial. Penn State is very beatable, as are Iowa, Illinois & Purdue. UM better win 2/4 of those before the last two vs Wiscy and @ OSU.

I think getting rid of RichRod right now would set Michigan back 3-4 years just due to the type of personnel Rich has been bringing in to run his style of offense. No way they get rid of him yet, if he has another 2-3 average to below average years, then he will be gone, but they gotta at least give him a chance to get his type of players in so he can run his offense the way he wants to

i don't know how much Stanford is paying Harbaugh (interweb laziness) but unless Mich were to pony up some serious $$$ no way he leaves Stanford. Few more recruiting classes and they will be top 10 easy. Dude looks like a player's coach. He was fired up as hell before that game yesterday.

On Robinson, he's good, but he showed he's fairly one dimensional (right now). I think he can develop into a great passer (if not great, above avg).

Having to throw the whole game is drastically different from simply having to throw

Down 21-0 early, your QB may have to throw the whole game

On third-and-12, your QB may have to throw to convert (then can go back to running, or runs for other players)

the problem is that it's hard to recruit kids at stanford. maybe he's on a roll, but maybe he's having a lucky streak. no coach likes to be told that they can't recruit a guy who qualifies according to the ncaa.
