^Wow... so it looks like they borrowed quite a lot of MMO mechanics from shitty free-to-play korean MMOs... particularly the market system, lack of explanation of game mechanics, and shitty social interface.

Hell, there are plenty of free MMOs out there that have realized these problems and moved past them (at the very least, the outdoor areas in free MMOs are almost always heavily populated with monsters... FFXIV's areas looked very empty in that respect). FFXIV having those issues still is simply terrible design...

...and goddamn, every single action in those gameplay clips just looks SLOW... for no good reason, too. It's all just blatantly extended for the sake of making you pay for more game time (especially the limit on quests per day).

I have been loving the new Final Fantasy XIV. I've been away from MMO's for several years, so I'm really enjoying getting back into the swing of things in a FF universe. Good times.

Well, they appear to have fixed all of the login and capacity issues for now, so when you have 5 more minutes, you may actually be able to log in and play.
