it seems as if many people on here are not that familiar with Cee-Lo. This man has been making quality music since 95'. I like this track but it really isn't anything that special, especially coming from him. You guys should check out his two solo albums. While they didn't sell that well at all, Perfect Imperfections is still in my top 3 of all time favorite hip hop albums. Young Man, One for the Road, and Big ol Words (damn) are absolutely the fire
8/21/2010 11:14:02 AM
dude is talented as fuck. he was the shit when he was in goodie mobthis song is fire
8/21/2010 11:49:58 AM

^^ Could not have said it better myself. His verses are always relevant, interesting and unique. He can sing as if he is still in church and then on the same track he spits it with the very best. He is definitely my favorite act in "Hip-Hop", if you can even put him in that genre. Saw him with Goodie Mob last year at the orange peel and it was pretty damn good. He came out and sang Crazy by himself and it was great. His versatility is the best part about him
8/21/2010 12:10:47 PM
i too doubted this threadthen I watched it, and have since replayed it 5 timesfull of win

For the record, last night I played this new jam but followed it up with "Closet Freak" from Perfect Imperfections, a song I love dearly.
8/21/2010 1:49:37 PM
lunch time...I think I might go with a heaping helping of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and collared greensmy only hesitation is that eating said food might give me trouble in being able to fit into my blue jeans, as I may be too big for them after consuming the meal
8/21/2010 2:20:22 PM
^^^while his solo discs are definitely different than any Goodie Mob releases, if you like his style at all, you should dig his cd's. Can't really describe them any other way than as to say they sound like Cee-Lo. Rapping one minute, singing his ass off the next, and following it up with a candle lit dinner at the waffle house
8/21/2010 2:36:47 PM
how many tattoos is he up to now...i think i saw some interview with him in like 02 or 03 and I think he already had 200+ tats
8/21/2010 2:40:10 PM
Came here to echo 15 years of Cee Lo love.
8/21/2010 5:32:10 PM
fan-fucking-tastic
8/21/2010 5:51:32 PM
I'm curious how the meeting went when he brought this to his label. "So, yeah, guys, I wrote this song and I feel really good about it, I really feel like it's gonna be a huge hit. Like, as big as "Crazy" was.""Great, we're glad to hear it.""Yeah, I really think you guys are gonna like it. Oh, yeah, one more thing, the name of the song is "Fuck You."""FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
8/21/2010 6:29:53 PM
dope. I've played this song at least 10 times today just because of this thread. I had heard of cee-lo before but never really heard any of his music except for "Liberation" by Outkast - he had a verse on that, I believe. So thanks for turning me on (even though, apparently, I'm pretty late ha).[Edited on August 21, 2010 at 8:49 PM. Reason : a]

8/22/2010 2:22:58 PM
8/22/2010 2:57:51 PM
meh I'm gonna have to go against the flow here, this song sounds incredibly gay to mesorry
8/22/2010 3:14:47 PM
don't be sorrymatters of opinion are simply thatand i'm especially okay with this one, because here i'm clearly right and you're clearly wrong
8/22/2010 3:17:19 PM
^^agreed. While I get that people like the jovial singing of profanity, the song doesn't really offer any interesting wordplay, great lyrics, or even a strong beat. It sounds really forced.
8/22/2010 3:22:23 PM
lets have existential conversations about Cee-Lo's wordplay and forced musical undertones
8/22/2010 3:24:56 PM
i can address these concerns1. it's a soul song, not a hip-hop song, so it's the bass (and here, the left hand of the keys) that keeps the beat, not the drums. therefore, the beat itself should not override what's going on in the rest of the rhythm section.2. this vocal here is about delivery, not wordplay. the cry-singing on the bridge is awesome and hilarious, as are the backing vocals through the song.3. the idea here is the juxtaposition of the sound and content, not a track with a dylanesque lyric sheet.
8/22/2010 3:33:02 PM
and i get the juxtaposition, i just don't think this song is as amazing and OMGWTFBBQ as everyone is making it out to be.
8/22/2010 3:35:08 PM
i made a thread about it because i love cee-lo and this is a song that can appeal to almost everyone, and i thought i'd throw it out there since it's obviously not going to come in through mainstream channels because of the languageis it the greatest song of all time? of course not. is it the best single of this summer? quite possibly.i'm just sayin' that when the hammond comes in the first time, that shit is EPIC
8/22/2010 3:38:05 PM
I'm a fan of Cee-Lo, but as far as this song goes, our opinions differ. good day, sir!
8/22/2010 3:39:46 PM
8/22/2010 3:46:34 PM
i need to get this as a ringtone, but i'd probably do something stupid like forget to put my phone on silent the one day my boss is around.
8/22/2010 9:01:44 PM
8/22/2010 9:07:11 PM
As a fan of old soul and old funk and Cee-Lo, I am very disappointThis song is boring
8/22/2010 11:22:06 PM
strictly from a beats only perspective...this is the type shit i associate the Cee-Lo beat with...which is the fire
8/23/2010 12:24:02 AM
8/23/2010 9:16:07 AM
Hope they don't change it to "Love You" like that Akon/Snoop songProbably screw you, F you, or Darn you
8/23/2010 9:32:56 AM
i was thinking F U if they'll allow that
