City of God is over rated. The same college kids who think Requiem for a Dream is the greatest movie ever also think City of God is the greatest movie ever. --- no, they don't realize that only one could be the "greatest" ever. --- but it's still decent and very watchable.

Equilibrium is... ehh, it's entertaining. I wouldn't not watch it. but i think it's only really liked because nobody heard of it until it had been out for a bit. the themes have been done a thousand times over, and they're not really updated or approached in any way that makes it compelling. But it's not a bad watch.


And I couldn't disagree more about The Fountain. I turn it on whenever I'm flipping through and see it on. For the visual aspect of it if nothing else. But while I think most people would think City of God is at least decent, and that Equilibrium is at least a decent "action" flick, The Fountain is something you could hate just as easily as love, or just like.

^ Equilibrium is a terrible movie because it has that awful 'cut in half and then after ten seconds slowly slide apart' gimmick. Also gun-kata is so completely retarded that it's not even possible to suspend disbelief for it.

I definately recommend seeing Equilibrium
its one of the funniest movies i've ever seen, although i was laughing at how bad the story was and at how much of a matrix ripoff it was
