TI: Brakk, the dude who has been posting most of the good info about the UNC scandal posted "here is a tidbit unrelated to the UNC mess for you guys" and then posted a maryland under armour jersey, then said nothing further. Thats where the speculation is coming from.

From what I have heard, nothing will happen until 2013 anyways when all of our contracts for all teams are set to run out and we can start a uni-wide deal

I like UnderArmour.

nike would be better, but Adidas has been absolutely abysmal. I have refused to purchase any NCSU item made by adidas since the switch.

RIP

Forgive my lack of knowledge but how did we lose our Nike contract? Is it something we lost when Amato left?

Also, I think that good looking uniforms must have some impact on recruiting. You know there were some guys out there on Monday who saw those VT jerseys and thought it would be cool to play in them. I still don't understand why anyone would want to play football in some of the jerseys I see. I do probably nitpick about jerseys more then others though.

Apparently we can't go back to Nike because Phil Knight was good friends with Valvano, and he will never forgive us for the way Valvano was treated.

Last night in PP chat Brakk (who we are switching to under armour) also said we can't do Nike basketball because of Phil Knight. This has also been discussed in the past and the consensus seems to be its because of Phil Knight.

I believe we lost the Nike Football contract when Chuckles refused to not wear the Oakley Sunglasses on the sidelines when we were in the midst of our Gator Bowl Season.

Basketball the Phil Knight thing sounds legit.

I've heard the Oakley thing before, talk about ridiculous. I'm not saying its true I actually believe it, but don't cost a school a Nike contract over Oakleys.

The Boise state ones? Not so much.

Nike's stuff might be cool, but the company is run by a bunch of douchebags so I'd prefer NCSU to have nothing to do with them.

So I view this as a nice change.

i guess those uniforms are "cool", if you prefer video games to tradition.

i just want white on red. i really actually quite like both out football and basketball right now. especially the basketball. i could do w/o the wolf statue logo thing, but whatever, they're way better than that shit we had in chuck's last few years.

I would love to go back to Rivers era FB jerseys and either Thompson or Lowe era basketball jerseys. Someone said on Pack Pride a few days back that we may see new Adidas basketball jerseys this year.

Hideous.
Alabama, Oregon State, and Pitt are decent.

Gravis said that, therefore its pretty much true. He said they are a tighter fit, squared neck.

Virginia Tech is already "auctioning off" (burning) these uniforms after last Monday.

And they're all hideous. The Alabama has patterned numbering. OSU is the best and that's not saying much.

If our uniforms are like the Auburn UA ones, it will look nice. Let's get some like these:

We did the black uniforms in basketball for 2 seasons (1999-2001?) and lost every game we played in them. No thanks.

Black uniforms only work if it's a primary color, like Wake or Vanderbilt or Purdue.

Pretty sure that, in the case of 2000, we were ranked and on the way to the NCAAs and then proceeded to lose 2 or 3 straight where we wore the black uniforms. After that, we were shit until the NIT, when we went to the Final 4 at MSG.

it's called post-processing. a lot of times it's used when a photographer wants to accentuate certain characteristics of a photo for the desired effect. in this case, faces were blacked out and certain colors were accented to make the uniforms pop because that's what they're selling.

the more you know.

Yeah, it's not like adidas has contracts with anyone better than us who could easily be w/ Nike (Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, Michigan)

I really don't care about the Maryland thing, I just like UA. Do they do bball shoes?
