Well, I see your point, but if they're that advanced, then they probably have been around longer...have more population issues, have a higher need for resources, etc.
I don't think they'd kill us for sport...but if you wanted a great planet with a ton of resources, I bet you'd kill off a bunch of meerkats to make it yours

Or wait until we are done recovering all these resources and putting them into an easier to use form. Then wipe us out and take all of our good hard work over the years for themselves Slaves without realizing it! 10/25/2010 7:24:16 PM |

It's painfully obvious that the el paso lights were night skydivers practicing for the upcoming air show, linking arms like skydivers do in a circle at first and lighting their flares, then splitting and freefalling, finally popping their chutes, giving the appearance of a massive deceleration, 'hovering' from the camera perspective so far below, and they then began gracefully circling, like parachutists do.
Finally, since they all popped the same flare types with the same fuel at the same time, they burnt out at the same time.

CLEARLY 3 people were abducted, and rather than take the time to land and drop them off the aliens gave them parachutes and flares and dropped them from 10 or 20,000 feet up. 10/25/2010 7:54:03 PM |

1. What makes you all think that Earth is the best planet to raid for resources? 2. Probably the smartest thing they're doing is NOT revealing themselves to us, else we'd go batshit insane and try to destroy them all. It's just human nature.
EDIT: P.S. Why does it always happen that aliens land ONLY in the US. Don't they know that there are vast land masses called Eur-Asia and Africa? Oh wait, they learnt their geography and though US is the awe-fucking-somest place on the planet (pun intended). Meh.

you are going to have to show me some better videos of meteor flares b/c the two vids are not that similar to me.
the color of the flares and the tails at the beginning are a little similar but how do you explain the hovering with burning flares that are not dripping or trailing at all. i mean, they may have all had spot lights for all i know and somehow timed it perfectly.
i used to be in EMS and i have used lots of flares extensively ... but not these types
that a group of skydivers can not hold a formation like that and float with flares without a trail of some sort. if they are then they are the best in the world apparently
i dont know what it is ... it could be flares, it could not be flares. i like to stay on the open minded side of things. I BELIEVE 10/26/2010 8:50:05 AM |

Quote : | "1. What makes you all think that Earth is the best planet to raid for resources?" |
I never said that. However, it has a lot of resources...and based on what little we know about our solar system, it has a lot more than most planets. Advanced societies, in theory, would have more population issues and would seek to colonize other planets
Quote : | "2. Probably the smartest thing they're doing is NOT revealing themselves to us, else we'd go batshit insane and try to destroy them all. It's just human nature." |
So you think a civilization that is advanced enough to travel hundreds/thousands/tens of thousands of light years (in all likelihood, unless we've just missed them living nearby) would look at us and think we could possibly hurt them? To them, we look like neanderthals banging rocks together. It would be like us stomping an anthill
Like I said, I don't think anyone is visiting us.

am i the only one that doesn't think little green men when i think "alien"??
i think like, little amoeba like organisms zooming around on some planet in another galaxy
i mean i GUESS there could be intelligent alien life, but why why WHY does it have to be pictured in the form of independence day aliens with dinosaur heads? i just don't get it. 10/27/2010 12:58:53 AM |

^ There's likely all types, from planets full of fungi to planets where dinosaurs (reptiles) rule...planest where insects rule, etc. There's also likely many planets where human-like beings rule.
When we finally find life, I'm guessing that it will be some form of single celled or simple organism, not someone that's going to be waving at us while we take pictures. I do believe those exist...again, I think they have to. If we're here on Earth, it's possible elsewhere, and considering that there are practically an infinite number of "elsewheres", you gotta like our chances of finding something someday. 10/27/2010 9:18:12 AM |

I think its much more likely that they find us first before we were to find them. We are a long way off from being able to do anything outside of our immediate vicinity in our own solar system much less dealing with things light years away. 10/27/2010 9:23:17 AM |

^Yep
My only question is if it's possible to travel those distances. I don't fully understand wormholes, but if it could be created, thats the only way it would be possible. We aren't even close to being able to do that, if it even can be done.
I doubt we'll even pick up radio signals before we're found. Even though we're broadcasting signals into space...and if they moved near the speed of light (No idea how fast they'd actually travel), they'll still take 2,500,000 years to reach one of our closest neighboring galaxies...Andromeda.
Granted, we'll surely find life in the Milky Way, but still...even distances within the milky way are just unfathomable

Yep if aliens are real and are here watching us there are really only a few possibilities...
1. It is indeed possible to travel much faster than the speed of light 2. Creation or use of 'worm holes' is indeed possible 3. There is a highly advanced civilization living much closer to us than we realize 4. There are multiple dimensions and these things are able to travel between them 10/27/2010 9:38:34 AM |
