I guess the show had just run its course and they decided to just end it with season 5. Which is nice b/c most shows just end and leave a cliffhanger.

it ended its run on DirecTV in February.

I think season 5 was available on some torrent sites?

I had been meaning to watch it for a while, but I had DISH and now I don't even have that. Over the last week I have been watching the last season. I was on like episode 8 when I came home from work today and I could not stop, so I just had a marathon FNL evening. Great show and I'm going to truly miss this on TV.

Maybe now I should watch the movie? Or read the book?

The show is/was so damned good, I am having a hard time not wanting it to continue. For me, its the best real life drama ever.

But at the same point, it had its time, the story line ran its course, and it ended perfectly.

^^Wow, very mixed about that. I really liked the ending and don't want to see them completely burn out the series. Let it go out on a high note.

With that said, I still love the series and will be interested to see what Berg is thinking about.

watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix. LOVE IT so far. I don't have regular TV channels or cable so I have missed out on this series completely. Sad that it ended.

i've heard that berg wants to do a movie based on coach and his wife in their new roles at the end of the show.

could be good, but hard to do FNL justice in movie form after having such deep dives with the seasons
