i liked RDR, but it was a little too deserted and empty for me... i like the busy cities of GTA so this one looks more like it...plus there are cars... the horses and carriages got a little old

if you watch the "15 minutes of gameplay", the first 5 minutes or so are just the opening cutscenes, and the 10 minutes of actual gameplay dont give away any spoilers, but will give you an idea of the gameplay, in a very minimal sense

basically the driving seems comparable to GTA, it looks like a Rockstar sandbox game overall, the 15 minute video is just a couple cops talking and looking for evidence in an alley

havent watched the 40 minute video myself but the 15 minute video isnt going to spoil anything really, unless you truly dont want to see ANYTHING

gameplay is linear with a mixture of sandbox elements. There are side quests that pop up much like RDR, however they aren't 100% random and require you to progress through the main story's arc before more appear. You can branch away from the main missions to go after these or just cruise around, but I haven't been able to find out much else about the world. Not sure if there is any options for customization/personalization of the character ala suits, weapons, etc. And there doesn't appear to be any safe houses as the game contiously saves.


^agreed. I watched the first 40 minutes and it seems more like a backstory of your character with several training missions that get you used to the controls but also tell how your character gained some notoriety in the force with some of his trademark cases before the main story ever begins.

from what i can tell it's a bunch of separate cases, but they're woven into a plot by reoccurring characters and the like. i'm sure there's a broad story arc

controls arent bad, shooting isnt bad, the cars arent quite as maneuverable as cars in GTA but you'd expect that since its the 40s

you can get your partner to drive somewhere which basically skips time until you reach your destination so thats a nice option ive been using...close to the end of the "45 minutes of gameplay" about to finish up the investigation of the first main investigative mission and its fun

the graphics and city look great, the facial recognation / mo cap expressions and emotions are ery well done as is the dialogue so the characters all seem pretty believable

i did that abandoned car mission last night and i'm pretty sure i got all the questions correct as well as all the clues, but i got a message at the end of the case about how questioning someone else might've led to someone else's conviction (i'm being intentionally vague)

but the point is, it seems like not only do the clues and evidence and questioning matter, but also the order of when you choose to do some of those things

lol, in the opening cut scene there is a quick shot of a cowboy riding a horse and shooting and my mind quickly thought i was getting ready to play RDR 2. but then it panned out to reveal a movie set and I realized I wouldn't be shooting indians this time
