vandy out after getting injured. maybe ankle

their post guy just backed him down like he was a rag doll earlier. did the same thing to leslie. Vandy and Leslie are just too light in the post/don't get down low enough to stop getting pushed around

Harrow is the shit on offense

I just heard that Harrow had a career-high 20 pts in 25 mins, 11 assists.

And Zo had a career-high 17.

(the two freshmen combined for 11 assists and 1 turnover)

And Reynolds was close to capacity (can anybody confirm?)

the best part about RH's 20 points is that none of them came from 3's

Reynolds wasn't even close to capacity. There wasn't a soul in either one of the upper level ends. But everything in between was packed and showing good support.

A few notes:

Vandenburg continues to be terrible. Just AWFUL. He can't finish, can't rebound, can't pass, and isn't really effective on defense. I know we need depth but it's not the worst thing in the world if he misses a game or two due to his ankle injury.

Painter looked fairly decent today. This extra PT he's gotten with tracy out has helped.

All of the freshmen played well. Athletic, exciting, etc.

Our defense still needs to improve. And our rebounding is still just terrible and I'm starting to believe it will never improve under Lowe. The problem is that no one, and I mean no one attempts to box out. Everyone jumps for the ball while it's 15 feet in the air and that just won't cut it. They never make an effort to establish position and it will continue to hurt us, especially once acc play gets here.

You do realize that we only have 2 players at Center right now. Vandenburg is going to get minutes until Smith gets back. I had some idiot behind me complaining that when Painter went out Vandenburg came in instead of Howell. Howell is a PF Vandenburg is a C they play different positions. It is pretty damn simple. I am fairly unimpresed with Leslie on the defensive end. He needs to quit leaving his feet to block a shot and concentrate on getting and retaining better position defensively. He does that and our rebounding will be much improved.

Last time I checked our rebounding differential improved every year under Lowe (except for last year I am assuming that was because we basically replaced Costner with Horner) so I am not sure what you are basing that assumption off of. Another thing to consider is our leading rebounder isn't playing right now.

Javi plays the first few minute of the game and we're losing to a cupcake. Javi gets hurt, Harrow comes in and leads the team to an easy victory. Hmmm.... (okay, slight stretch because it was so early...but good to see Harrow have a good game, even against below average competition).

Harrow had an excellent game against some inferior competition. I like Harrow MUCH more playing the fast break. I loved it when he pissed off Hash so much that Hash pushed him after Harrow made him his bitch.

Reynolds was pretty damn full considering those seats are awful, it was against USC Upstate and it was at 2 pm on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Freshmen looked really good, Wood looked like he could hit a 3 whenever he wanted to and Painter looks to be a pretty solid option at Center behind Tracy. This team has a ton of potential when they get Tracy back in the post.

I didn't say Reynolds should be full. I was just responding to someone that asked if it was full is all. It was a good crowd all things considered.

I liked the "AIR BALL" chants whenever #25 got the ball.

Or #20 constantly being referred to as a Hobbitt.

Harrow is clearly the future and Javi has had 3+ years of starting....we know his limit. Start Harrow.

considering neither team hardly had any fouls called against them, the fact we scored 81 is a pretty high score.

They were trying to slow down the tempo much of the game too (their coach said that before tip off at least). So yeah, 81 is pretty darn good ... especially considering how slow we started.

^^, ^, you boys better correct those posts. We had 79 points. adder lurks. If you don't get things exact, then you are plain wrong.

^^^I am just not at the college level. Maybe you will be supporting me one day on a board. Wouldn't that be ironic?

We have not been able to get to the line at all this year. I guess that's just a product of not having Tracy Smith. Painter and Howell are just a little too soft down low and don't go up strong with the ball...therefore they don't get fouled. Hopefully that trend ends with Smith coming back...

Where did he say that! That is hilarious. However the USC upstate dude did get some open looks from Harrow losing him on D.

I imagine Ryan may make a few enemies along the way. He's got that confident "swagger", and some guys aren't gonna take kindly to having a kid of his stature and size making them look foolish on defense.

we had season tickets there for 10 yrs, visibility is fine. in the corners it sucks b/c you have to turn your head, but straight back in the endzones is fine unless you havent had an eye exam in years.

yeah, pretty bold statement, especially since there's only been one ACC game played.
