I loved it, espeically compared to the shitpile that was the ROTF. They did a good job of keeping the actual plot of this movie under wraps, and I was surprised at what actually happened in the movie.

That being said its fucking LONG (over 2 /12 hrs) and there was some of Acts 1 & 2 that could of been trimmed down.

SPOILER

^ Well remember they "killed off" Megatron in the first one too, so who knows?

Also, ROFL-bad JFK CG....why not just have a shot of the back of his head (like he's looking out the window or some shit) and just use the voice?

I don't understand the name change of Mirage -> Dino and Wheeljack -> Que (see: prequel comics and videogame). Although given what they used Que for (cannon fodder), I don't mind that change as much.

But what I really want to know is when they're going to release good toys of the Wreckers, Dino, and Carwave

Saw it last night. Must be seen in 3D. It is not as good as the first one, but the battle scenes I think are the best of any of the movies. It is way too long--not enough story for that length of movie, no need for it to be that long. And the new girl is terrible. I still enjoyed it though.

Basically it wasn't any different, or much better, than the first two, except the action was a little bit superior and seeing it in 3D was pretty cool. Almost any scene not involving giant fighting robots was pure shit. I actually like Shia Lebouf in these films, but everyone else is so terrible it's funny, which isn't all their fault b/c it's Michael Bay directing and the script dialogue is really bad. Decent enough story, but there were so many plot holes and other stupid shit (i.e. awful CG jfk, almost unbearable national security advisory, ha sam's gf calling megatron sentinel's bitch, patrick dempsey's character, etc...) that it brings down the movie as a whole. If they cut out an hour of unnecessary shit and kept all the action scenes, it would actually be a good movie, which you can say for the other two as well. Overall, better than the second one but not quite as enjoyable as the first, all three films as a whole though are massive disappointments.

I really don't get all the hate on this guy.

First...you can't really "act well" in movies like these.

Second...he's not a bad actor and not an annoying kid anymore.

^He's cast as that character quite often (all the Transformers, Die Hard, etc)...but he's had other roles and performed quite well in them.

Not saying he's Marlon Brando or anything...but he's also not Paul Walker or Matthew McConaughey either.

Supposedly, due to contractual obligations in regards to Cars 2 and HP8. This is based on nothing but a friend of mine calling Marbles/Crossroads.

Southpoint IMAX has it, but only until HP8 comes out, so if you want to see it in IMAX, don't wait around too long.

Though I will say that the IMAX didn't seem overly necessary. On the contrary, 3D is a must.

Probably the best use of 3D since Avatar. Anything involving the robots/action scenes just pops out in a very dynamic way, and gives it more impact then the typical Michael Bay "oh look things are blowing up" action. The 3D here was clearly not an afterthought.

Of course, if you just don't like 3D, this probably isn't going to change your mind.

I agree. I had not been impressed previously with 3D so usually don't spend the money on it, but I heard the action scenes were so great in this movie, we splurged for it and I'm really glad we did.

If the movie is shot in 3D then I will pay the money

If the move is converted to 3D in post, I will say fuck them and not pay the money

Just got back as well and must say I really liked it.

SPOILER

I had at one point hoped for an "empire strikes back" ending when things looked so bleak, kinda leave everything hanging for a sequel in stead of just a stand alone plot. But, like others have said, good plot and very well done.

I would recommend 3d as well. haven't bothered with it since Avatar and it clearly benefits some action sequences.

It was way better than the second, but I still liked the first much better. The movie kind of sputtered around at first though, didn't seem like a consistent story.

Also, THEY NEED TO STOP TRYING TO MAKE THE ROBOTS FUNNY

THE ROBOTS HAVE NEVER BEEN FUNNY

Ken Jeong was hilarious though. John Turturro was also pretty funny IMO (at least more so than the robots)

I specifically avioded the 3d movie because it's never been worth it besides Avatar and I didn't want to pay the extra 3 bucks. Now I feel like I missed out.

I didn't mind it as a plot device, but having him go down so easy was pretty lame. Also, the second shot of his head popping off was pretty unnecessary. And no one mentions his death. Ever. Not even a revenge kill or a "this is for Ironhide" or anything.

^ I can't see there being another direct sequel, unless they plan on doing some Galvatron/Unicron kind of stuff, which I can't see Orci and Kurtzman doing well, much less at all.

My predictions for the future of a TF movie franchise:

1) Reboot in about 5 years when Hasbro stops selling so many toys. Characters will be vastly similar, including a mute Bumblebee.
2) A TF: Prime "The Movie" as an epilogue or season-bridge
90000) Beast Wars: The Movie

Biggest issue for me was this:

If Megatron (thus the Deceptions), knew that Sentinel was defecting, then why did they shoot down the Arc?

Megatron said something about that. I'm not sure the Decepticons knew about it, and it was more of a Megatron/Sentinal deal

I didn't understand what the humans were going to do to help them with rebuilding Cybertron. When they said they will bring Cybertron into Earth's atmosphere I figrued it would be Death Star 2 sized or a little bigger (approx 400 miles in diameter).

But that thing was like 5 times the size of Earth, what are 6.5 billion humans going to do to rebuild it?

Spoiler:

The whole Cybertron transportation storyline was full of holes. I kept thinking that Cybertron being transported so close to Earth would throw off Earth's gravity and orbit. Also, it was pretty convenient that all it took was one pillar being broken to create a black hole that sucked up just Cybertron.

I thought the whole point was to have the "control pillar" destroyed, which would shut down the bridge portal. It looked to me that they just destroyed one of the regular pillars. Makes me wonder why a military in another, less Decepticon-fortified city couldnt shoot down a pillar.

Movie pretty much followed the formula to a tee:

http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6552528/every-michael-bay-movie-in-under-a-minute

Spoiler:

Agreed about the whole Cybertron thing. I think they did blow up the control pillar though, but given that the first time they blew it up it simply stopped the transport, I don't understand why blowing it up would not only create a black hole but selectively vacuum up Decepticon ships as well.

although I didnt like this movie as much as a lot of people seem to, I will say that the action scenes were pretty killer. The scene where Sam is flying through the air and Bumblebee grabs him and transforms into the camaro was sweet

Enjoyed it. The 3d owned. The 3d skydiving totally owned.

Michael Bay is pretty awesome I just wish hed figure out how to edit his movies. Quick jumps from sub plot to sub plot without transitions is pretty jarring.

The whole chicago battle was epic though. A+ for action, C for plot.

New girl served her purpose as eye candy---acting was horrendous. John Malkovich's role seemed have no real purpose, and LOL at Patrick Dempsey being a bad guy.

Alos, big LOLs at the product placement throughout the movie---modified NASCAR stock cars??

I still thoroughly enjoyed the movie!

^Yes. The music is epic. I love the movie although the plot is too simple. By the way, a sentence said by Optimum prime seemed deleted--"You've made a great mistake." after he said "You lied to us" to the female official.
