What's the deal with robin? I have both the unlock codes but it prompted me for the catwoman one and didn't for the robin one. Is he playable or is it just some useless xbox theme/bat data character profile shit?

^ Is that one based on Arkham Asylum?

I'd hate to have missed a recent comic.

This game is amazing. I think its even better than Arkham Asylum. I need to slow down on the main story, though, I'm at 72% but only 29% overall. The side quests have been great, too.

How much have they mixed up the combat. For me, it was just clicklicklicklicklicklcickcliclcicccclikclickcclclick

Repetitive. And the bosses had the same weakness throughout the entire game. Just hit them with the batarang and hit them when they injure themselves.

GOT to mix that shit up.

I am really enjoying the combat system. There seems to be much more variety as to what you can do and when you can do it. I'm reaching a point now where the bad guys don't just stand around and come at you one at a time, but rather I've got like maybe 4-5 attempting to strike simultaneously. That doesn't even include the guns, katanas, body armor, and riot shields I've started seeing recently. (The guns are vicious in this game.)

The game looks awesome, it will probably be the most torrented game of the year, just like the last one. SP games normally get torrented on PC and Console alike and if the player really likes the game they will buy it when the price drops. However 20% off on Steam if you own the last one or the Lego Batman Game is pretty cool to do for consumers.

I can't wait to see what they do with the PC version. The first Batman was really the first game that took advantage of the PhysX Engine and now it will also have DX11. You can watch the video differences between no PhysX and PhysX here: http://www.geforce.com/News/articles/exclusive-physx-in-batman-arkham-city-a-first-look

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9_UNRp7Wrog

It is a night and day difference in graphics and atmosphere; not to mention the tessellation by DX11 and whatever else they use from DX11. Oh btw why don't we have a console only thread for this game? BF3 needed one.

At first, I wasn't sure that I liked as much as the first because it seems like there's so much going on at any one time. It's kind of overwhelming, but I'm digging it as move farther through the story.

Played and beat the game. Doing sidequests here and there. The game's frozen up on me at least four times and one time some sound effects stopped playing. Still enjoyed the hell out of it.

I don't know how many of these Riddler trophies/challenges I'm going to complete. Seems like they went a tad overboard.

I'm a little pissed by the Riddler trophies. I wouldn't normally go so far out of my way to collect them, but now knowing that you HAVE to in order to rescue all of the hostages... well, now what kind of Batman would I be if I didn't save everyone? The programmers have guilted me into it. LOL. Each one I get brings me a little bit closer to catching that bastard and saving the people, and that's strangely satisfying.

SPOILERS

Mark Hamill said he's done with the Joker, so I guess he really is dead in the Batman video game universe

^WTF? They left a very obvious way for him to come back. And really voice acting takes, what, 5 hours tops? It's not like Mark Hamill is starring in a bunch of movies these days.

WOW. Ending of the game is spectacular. I just don't see how this can't be game of the year across all platforms.

Now I have to go find the other damn 200 Riddler trophies which I missed. Ugh.

I though the Ras-Al-Goul mission was really nicely done. Not quite as awesome as the Scarecrow side missions from Arkham Asylum, but close.

I finished the main campaign yesterday, and I was really surprised that it ended where it did. It seemed a bit anticlimactic in comparison to Arkham Asylum. I'm really enjoying the side missions: It's been a great way for them to do all the cameos.

I really want them to release some more missions as DLC; it'd be great to see who else is in the city and who sets himself up in place of the heavies you take out.

This game really won me over. The campaign was a little short and I haven't been this sad to see a game end in a very long time. In fact, I wrote a review for gamefaqs. /huge nerd

Picked this game up today for the pc. I wish I could say how awesome it is, but I can't even play it. It keeps crashing when it tries to load the first level. I've tried updating everything I know how, my rig can handle the requirements, and this bullshit still doesn't work. Fucking asshole developers push back the goddamn pc version for a few weeks, and it still doesn't fucking work.

If anyone else is having trouble with it on the pc, please let me know so that I don't feel crazy.

I've been reading that the cause for the crashing is related to DX11, but I have DX9. I've tried various other suggestions, but nothing gives.

I am very disappoint. I'm seriously considering trading this game back in when I go pick up the new Assassin's Creed next week. It's unfortunate I won't get to play a game that's getting such stellar reviews, but if the devs can't be arsed to get their shit right then I don't see why they should get my money.

I would just return it and pirate it later or just hold out and wait for a patch. This is why I don't PC game. I can't imagine how awesome this game would look on a high end rig.

I got stuck something awful in the Steel Mill. I went back in to get the stolen Freeze tech and I could not find a way to get out.

You cannot get out by the water route, despite the only marked "Exit" on the map. Then again I do not know how I missed the large green arrows on the floor showing the exit in the first place.

you can get out by the "exit" but it's kinda f'd up

i got stuck there too

you can throw the ice blast up as close to that door you cant get under as you can, and jump on it, then kinda, dive into the water under the low hanging wall... you'll respawn on the other side.

^ I would never have seen that if someone didn't tell me it was there.

Some of the EXTREME predator challenges are pretty extreme. I got absolutely owned 20 times on one of the Catwoman ones last night and had to look up the strategy on youtube. This game can be pretty difficult at times. Another reason I love it.

I can't decide if the Robin or Nightwing DLC is worth it. Am I gonna have to start waiting for GOTY editions for all games?
