I do say though, if he comes back, the combination of having the best QB in the ACC along with a very strong team against a weak schedule would make for a very promising season.

FSU will still win the Atlantic regardless if Wilson returns. They should be loaded next year assuming Manuel is not the next coming of Jacory Harris (i.e. turnover machine).

That being said, I hope Wilson comes back and lights shit up. I feel bad for Glennon, but ultimately I want the Pack to win and Wilson gives us the best chance to do that.

I'd love for RW to come back obviously, but I'm pretty optimistic about 2011 regardless. My biggest concern is our WRs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Spencer, Davis, Jarvis Williams are all seniors and Graham, George Bryan, Stephen Howard, Jay Smith would be our best returning guys? I may be missing someone. But a good QB can always make his WRs play better...and either way I think we'll be alright at the QB position in 2011.

russell can make like 650k minimum in the nfl and much less if he only pursues baseball. he has been so good for us though he could pull a mike vick for all i care, he's earned it. also, if he comes back id feel so bad for glennon, i might break his leg so he could pull a tony baker and be here for 6 years

fair enough I do agree with that logic

too much stock is placed upon program history and matching up teams that "travel" and either recreatign some classic match up in a bowl game or hand picking two teams because they hadnt played eachother yet

its also an injustice that Miami of ohio wins their conference and place at shit o clock on what-the-hell day against some subpar team.

i feel we need playoffs for sure

glennon has paid his dues, has a rocket arm, etc.

but he doesn't scramble for 35 yds on 3rd and 19 against Carolina on the TD drive that put us ahead for good. nor does he rush for 3 TDs vs FSU with a pocket constantly breaking down

basically, glennon may have better passing ability but russell is a better fit given our offensive line and running game

I'm sure we could go back and pick particular moments in time that Russell did something poorly and say "maybe Glennon wouldnt have done that." Not exactly a one way street bro.

^^ maybe with his cannon of an arm hes never in a 3rd and 19 to begin with. Or he throws it for a 35 yard completion.

I'm with the group that wants to see Glennon play. I'm not necessarily convinced my unhappiness with RW's play hasn't been a result of his offensive line's struggles or his receivers laziness, but I do know I am tired of seeing him scramble for 4+ seconds and STILL find no open receivers to throw to.

we know what we're getting with Wilson, one of the best QB's in the league. No offense to Glennon but who knows what he'll be able to bring in a full season.

Anybody that would kick aside one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC for the potential of another prospect isn't thinking straight. I'd feel bad for Glennon for not getting a chance after putting in his time but that's just how life goes sometimes, nobody should be guaranteed anything

Russell has not been as good as his first season. That doesn't mean he's not good, but he has not progressed. I don't want a part time QB. Our offense was shit this year when you look at it objectively. Look over the course of the season and look how many points the offense left on the field. We should have destroyed every opponent. Not all of it was Wilson of course, but there were certainly things he did not do well and I blame a lot of that on his split time between sports. If he comes back, he needs to go through spring and full summer drills.

Wow, is this real RW hate in here? You are a moron if you do NOT want him back. 90% of the schools out there would die to have him... Any offensive problems that you think exist aren't due to him

I wouldn't say 90 percent

Closer to 75

People have been spoiled by Rivers and Wilson

Glennon has a much better chance to be in the Davis-Stone-Evans-Beck mold than either of them

Yep...Glennon is an uncertainty. Wilson is will certainly be one of the best QBs in the conference. I'd take the sure thing (RW) every time.

Wow I cannot believe people are shitting on Wilson. Go die in fire. Yeah he made a few mistakes, but in the end, he led us to a 9 win season and possible top-25 ranking. We struggled in the red zone this year, but that is more likely due to play calling than anything Wilson was doing.

Quote :
"Card-Pitt: A Marriage That Went To Hell

65 years ago the 2 teams battling for the Super Bowl championship were one team.

Back in 1944, World War II was still raging and many NFL players were dodging bombs rather than catching them in the European and Asian theater. Wartime sacrifice was greatly effecting the NFL as teams could not even field a team. Some franchises folded while others merged.

The year before, the Pittsburgh Steelers were down to 6 players so owner Art Rooney got permission from then NFL commissioner Elmer Layden to merge with the Philadelphia Eagles, who were also down in numbers. That year the Steagles as they were known had moderate success.

In 1944 the Steelers merged with the Chicago Cardinals to form Card-Pitt. Now the Cardinals were in the middle of a 29 game losing streak so they were bad. Combined with the Steelers it became god awful.

The Card-Pitts were a team of no talent, no chemistry and no clue and finished 0-10.

It got so bad that 3 players on the team were fined for "indifferent play" following a 34-7 loss against the Chicago Bears. In today's terms, they were fined for playing like crap. The players were ticked off and fought with the coaching staff. So much for team chemistry.

Steelers owner Art Rooney called Card-Pitts “the worst team in NFL history.” That they were.

So when you watch Super Bowl XLIII lets hope the game doesn't go down the toilet like there combined efforts did in 1944.
