I wouldn't mind if this place closes down and they replace it with a real Greek diner

^^So you havent even eaten there, yet you want it to close down. Classy.

How about they stay open and you open a Greek Diner somewhere else in proximity?

I've eaten there twice now and the food has been nothing short of great. Their beer selection is pretty extensive compared to pretty much every other establishment in Raleigh with exception of Flying Saucer.

The owner is a great guy and just wants to provide good food, good beer, and good service to everyone who comes through their doors.

Who has a better selection of local/NC brews?

With 66 beers on tap, i'd call that extensive.

^^ You didn't say local. Several places have more than 66 taps.

True lol.

And there's plenty of places around here that have a great selection of local beers. Pretty sure Tribeca Tavern serves only NC beers if I remember correctly.

66 taps is a lot, and more than enough for any restaurant in the area.

I think we can all agree that 66 draft choices is a fuck ton. Move on to other discussions.

I don't remember the Cherry Bomb menu that well, how much is changed? I only ate at cherry bomb once, and the food was just ok, although I liked the setup and the tvs. It was also their grand opening week when they were working on a 1 page temporary menu, so I guess I never really gave them a fair shake. Overall, the new Brewmasters theme should appeal to a wider demographic!

What is this I hear about the owner being a Buffalo fan and refusing to show Canes games? I will need more details on this rumor before I can ever allow myself to set foot inside.

I'm curious to know who has more than 66 taps. Not arguing anymore, I'm genuinely interested (because I want to go there! lol)

^^that was the partner that owned the Cherry Bomb concept (Although i doubt it really happened since any thursday the hurricanes have played i have seen the game on when i was doing trivia)

the chef was the other partner hence why the menu is pretty much still the same, they have added a couple of items from what i saw

i like how they did beer pairings with their items....

^aside from Flying Saucer i don't know of anyone. Maybe the Ale or Draft House but I don't know

^thats my point, argumentative bastards on here. 66 individual taps is a shit ton! Plenty of bars around have 66+ beers on the menu, but 66 drafts is a tremendous selection.

exactly! Having 66+ beers is nothing. They usually only have like 10 on TAP though, lol.

Were they doing well as Cherry Bomb? It just seems weird to close and reopen and the only thing you change is the "concept", especially when you're going from one meaningless thing to another. I went to Cherry Bomb three or four times when they opened up and was never impressed. I hope they do well with the new thing, but I don't see myself ever going there unless they can do something better or different than everybody else downtown.

I'm not a beer guy, though, so the 66 taps doesn't really do anything for me.

I think it was more a split of the partnership. The other guy wanted to take the "Cherry Bomb" concept with him from what I hear.

There are at least 10 establishments in Raleigh with 30+ taps

the one time ive been to cherry bomb grill, the service was ok, the food looked completely unappealing (i didnt eat) and the beer list, while extensive, was lacking in anything i wanted to order.

there were a bunch of loud assholes there too.

however, the hostess had HUMONGOUS TITS

so all in all, 10/10

Yes, that's exactly what I said I don't wish for any business to fail (unless they're really fucking terrible) because I know how much effort goes into starting one. But if it is destined to fail that's my vote for what goes in next

This formula, in combination with a bajillion taps, seems to have worked wonderfully for Flying Saucer.

saucer's food is better than most bar food...i really like natty greene's food the best

i've also only once or twice had poor service at saucer, and only because it was a new girl who was frazzled

Ive been there once and the food was good. Also had a good beer selection. Cherry Bomb theme was unique, but not quite my style. Interested to see the new layout.

My main complaint was that they refused to turn up volume for games. So on sunday afternoons when it is slower and NFL is on you cant listen to the game.

Also +1 on the hostess' big titties

The theme was a good choice in my opinion, but they didn't expound on it enough. It felt like a poseuresque attempt in my opinion.

Maybe that's because I consider myself to be a pretty hardcore gearhead, but it felt like that to me.

I'm sure they will. Same owner.

To each his own I guess, but the two times i've been there the food was great. The crabcake sammich was hands down the best I've ever had (maybe that's why i'm defending this place so much, i dunno) and the Cherry Bomb burger was dank as well. Yes, I said dank.

I'm wondering that as well.

^ probably depends on which owner set up the restaurant.com deal.

Cherry Bomb had Bleu cheese crumbles and a cherry marmalade (mostly just stewed cherries with little else). The Brewmaster seems to be pretty much the same thing but claims to have beer in the cherry marmalade.

Burger was good, but the fucking cherries were not. I cleaned them off and ate it with just the Bleu cheese. Much better.

'Dank' is a poor description for this burger, in my not-so-humble opinion. 'Overdone in the name of trying to be cool and different' is a much better choice.

Given your taste in beer, i bet your taste in food is just as shitty.

What did you eat there that you didn't care for???
