Why the fuck won't Sid just try some new techniques on defense? Let's go full court press on Duke, put pressure on the ball handler and try to create some turnovers. Playing our shitty half court defense is not going to win this game so let's try something different. When is the last time we actually employed a full court press or half court trap or anything that resembled pressure defense? Fuck this team.

Hopefully the refs will actually call fouls on the Plumlees and Kelly this game so that they don't have 10 blocks in one half again.

Its sad to already know that we're going to get crushed in this game. Sid is definitely not a good coach.

That being said, he definitely doesn't deserve all the hate being thrown his way. He's a great guy who's meant a lot to the university and I appreciate him taking the time to come back to NCSU and attempt to help the BBall program after so many people turned their noses up at us. Its really a shame it didn't work out.

I've got to give credit to Sid for fulfilling his commitment to academics. One of the first things he said when taking his job is that his players will graduate. As much as Sendek was purported to be a guy that cared about academics (somewhat of a fallacy when you look at our APR and graduation rate), Sid graduated players and took us to the top APR in the ACC and top 10 in the nation. We may have been losing, but at least him and his staff represented our university with some dignity, unlike some of the basketball factories out there (e.g. Calipari at Memphis and Kentucky). I'd rather have good press on page 8 of the sports section than bad press on the front page.

Probably because we never work on it with any kind of dedication in practice. Seriously teams watch game film on us, see how we run the same shitty half court man defense, and then proceed to put 80+ on us each game.

Maybe if we threw something else against them as a surprise, we might be able to generate a turnover now and then. I'm not saying run it the entire game, but mix that shit up. We're going to get face raped anyway, might as well take some risks. We have enough able bodies to at least attempt some pressure defense. It's not like were going out there with a 6 man rotation.
