I see drugs, alcohol, and lots of talk about how he used to be the best wrestler in his age group in his future. 3/6/2011 1:35:20 PM |

But in all seriousness... Yes wrestling is pretty brutal but I have to give this kid credit for being so passionate. I don't know, it looked like he really wanted to be there. How is it any different from the kid who loves football and wants to grow up to be a lineman? I wish more kids these days would be as focused as this little guy. Just because he looks aggressive in the video doesn't mean he's an aggressive kid in general - we've only seen a little snippet of this kid's life. :\

if a kid gets his ass beat, you tell him tears are unacceptable and either cut the suck or find something else to do. i picked up wrestling in high school and college but did taekwondo tournament fighting from the same age (5 or 6). i had the benefit of going 3 full years before I ever lost but when I did, and jesus christ i did (devastating knockout), there were no tears and sulking was unacceptable. nobody liked the kids that cried when you beat on em and it was a direct reflection on their parents." |

like the other wrestlers in here said, his technique, knowledge of moves, strategy, footwork, and hand work/fighting are excellent - this isn't simply a case of strength. This kid is legitimately good. I just hope it isn't making him into a douche... success at a young age without some lessons from the parents can yield shitty people. 3/7/2011 7:24:37 AM |

I don't have anything against competitiveness--it's a good thing. Poor sportsmanship is usually indicative that someone is a d-bag in general, though. Remember this is the internet, where we judge people based on limited information
I also think it's weird that this is basically sanctioned kid-fighting.3/7/2011 8:39:17 AM |
