I work for a financial institution and I was once written up for calling AT 8:30...on the nose...and not before. Literally, the letter said "although you called right at 8:30, our policy states that you must call before 8:30 if you are going to be late."
Had I not called at all, I probably would have been fired. 4/5/2011 9:04:56 AM |

I stop at the local bakery and buy pastries when I'm running late can't fault someone for being late when they are being the nice office girl
Plus there's no other way around it. I work in the same room with the two other people who work here and one's my boss and there's a big window facing the parking lot with a great view of me walking from my car. 4/5/2011 9:25:31 AM |

anytime i was running late at my old job, i would always make a quick trip to either bojangles, panera, krispy kreme, etc and pickup breakfast for the office. upon arrival i would blame my tardiness on the ineptitude and/or line at whatever place i picked up the food from. it works especially well if you bring food periodically without being late. 4/5/2011 9:44:37 AM |

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door--that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh--after that I sorta space out for an hour. I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. 4/5/2011 9:45:12 AM |

Just make it look like you are busy at work and leave. People at my place do this all of the time and I hate it.
Is it wrong to call them out in front of the boss?4/6/2011 12:23:11 AM |

I miss my old job, I missed an entire day once and no one noticed.
Then one day I was supposed to be in at 11 and arrived at 4:45 sent some emails and left at six....no one noticed that either.
At my job now I would definitely be fired for chronic tardiness.] 4/6/2011 1:32:05 AM |
