I was checking out used copies of the first one on Amazon and they were all around $7-8 and then I saw that one for 0.17. Apparently it's the box set that's been revised somehow that isn't too popular with fans of the series but I didn't care at that price (shipping was only like 2.99). It's brand new too.
I'm thinking whoever the seller was meant to make it $17.00 and misplaced a decimal After I ordered it, I was afraid just the empty box for the box set was going to show up5/1/2011 10:14:29 AM |

They only revision that happened was to The Gunslinger, which King went back to and added some stuff to make it flow better with the rest of the series. 5/1/2011 10:15:38 AM |

The Black Jewels by Anne Bishop. started off as a trilogy but then just kind of... kept going. its fantasy fiction, so it's not everyone's cup of tea i suppose but i love love love them.
If you're into vampires/werewolves/fucking book porn then the Anita Blake series. there are 203984209384 of them at this point and after about the 8th they're just sex sex sex but..... they started out pretty entertaining 5/23/2011 12:17:36 AM |

Seriously?
As a kid: The Tripod Series, Goosebumps
Now: Harry Turtledove's American Empire series, Arthur C. Clarke's Rama and 2001 series, and while they haven't all come out yet, I can't put down the series of late 20th century American history books by Rick Perlstein (Before the Storm, Nixonland, more to come).5/23/2011 3:41:33 PM |
