To further the PETA theory this is in the same area where the PETA staff were coming to Ahoskie to pick up pets to take to an "adoption center" in Norfolk, when in actuality they euthanized them as soon as they got them in the van and then dumped their bodies in the dumpsters behind Wal-Mart.

This quote in the article irks me for some reason. I think it's the 'though' at the beginning of the sentence, it makes it sound like more of a jab at the fact that we're using a dog. I've never seen an article say although unc-ch's teams are nicknamed the tarheels they use a ram as it's mascot.. And I'm pretty sure I have never seen tar on the heels of that ram either.

It doesn't make sense to use a wolf either way, they are stubborn, hard to train, and extremely independent. A low-content Hybrid (wolf/Malamute or wolf/GSD) would work, but then you would still have some of the characteristics of a full wolf, but not as extreme in some cases...a Tamaskan is your best bet.
