As a matter of fact, that's exactly not what I said.

If
your debt carries a 10% interest rate
and
your investment only makes 5% interest per month,

then you're net losing money by keeping your money in your investment.

I agree with that. I thought you were saying its better to go into debt than to invest because of the difference in interest rates. My bad.

Sorry to hear that. I would be depressed as fuck if I had to live like that.

Never had any debt, never plan to. Just got a credit card for the first time last year, and I use it as a debit card only.

Good luck to OP.

I had to go back and make sure I didn't type that. I make spelling/grammar/homophony mistakes that I don't catch all the time.

I owe:

more than most people's houses (fucking law school)

I'll pay it off eventually, or they'll take it from my estate when I'm dead.

Scholarships, kids. And if you don't get one, don't pursue expensive private education.

it seems like there is a pretty strong correlation between being vehemently opposed to debt and being an ultra-Christian weirdo

I've gone down from $13,500 to $6,000 in the four months I've had a full-time job. By my birthday in September I'll be completely, 100% debt free (including car payments). I mean I'll still hold between a 10-20% balance on my cards but I'll pay them off month end.

Of course, I'll be grabbing a mortgage in 13 months likely, but that is different.

In that example, he's right.

Coming out of college with a mountain of debt that takes forever to pay off really puts the brakes on fun shit you can do.

cars: done next friday
student loans: 9 months to go
house: (at currently planned rate) ~ 13 years.

Chance of ending up living in a tree because i dont have health insurance: 0%

And education is 5000% worth it if you actually have a reasonable goal in mind that results in marketable job skills.

I graduated in May with ~16k in student loans but it's all taken care of

ClassicMixup has never declared bankruptcy. When ClassicMixup gets in trouble, he transfers his debt to William Charles Scheider.

25 years left on my mortgage (converting my house to a rental property in less than a month)

If I make no extra payments I will be 52 when it pays off...that seems like forever.

^Nah, I made all the money by brute force hardwork.

It took me:

From and including: Tuesday, January 2, 2007
To and including: Monday, July 4, 2011

It is 1645 days from the start date to the end date, end date included

Or 4 years, 6 months, 3 days including the end date
Alternative time units
1645 days can be converted to one of these units:

142,128,000 seconds
2,368,800 minutes
39,480 hours
235 weeks

I took some epic mafia pictures of the final payment, wanna see them?

Yes, I debated it and somehow landed on that.

I reread the thread and immediately knew I should have said who.
