^at the same time though, unless you absolutely love your job if you settle for $40k when your work/time is actually worth more you're doing it wrong as well.

Yep, average in the US is not always average in a given city. But you are no longer entry level. Ask for 90K and work from there. Make sure to check to see how much vertical freedom you would have, as in, will your salary increase for satisfactory work? exemplary work? ect.]6/18/2011 11:26:00 AM |

I made that working at Best Buy.
I would ask for closer to a 65-70k range
