New additions posted. Some of the ones I remember:

the Antlers
Atlas Sound
Moby
Amon Tobin
Stickmen
Kode9
Glasser
Dan Deacon

etc.

Go to the website...

Not crazy about the additions. Moby is a shitty big-name add for me.

But, there is some stuff amongst the adds that should be cool to see (The Antlers, Glasser, Dan Deacon Ensemble, Beak>, etc). Beak> is a side project for Portishead's Geoff Barrow, the second act on the bill he'll be performing with (the first is Anika; it says on her artist profile page on the Moogfest website that Barrow will be performing with her), so I still wouldn't be surprised if Portishead is there; that's who I'm really hoping for as far as a headliner. It's entirely possible that they are waiting on Portishead to announce a tour.

I'm not familiar with Amon Tobin's music at all, but these stage visuals do look pretty insane:

They still have about 20 bands to add. I'm not entirely thrilled about the additions, but with 20 to add, versus the initial lineup of acts I haven't seen at all, I'm still uber excited. Yeah, I could also care less about Moby, but it is what it is...

It's not on the official lineup yet, but Flying Lotus has been added to Friday night:

http://windishagency.com/artists/flying_lotus

He was the #1 artist I wanted most to be at this festival before the lineup was announced, so I'm really, really excited.

Yeah, it's not really surprising; he definitely fits the specific atmosphere of the festival. Still, when I didn't see him on the initial lineup or the first round of additions, I just assumed it wasn't happening this year. Adding him puts this lineup way over the top for me.

Not sure if it was being discussed here, but Moogfest is tweeting that Portishead shant be playing this year.

^yeah, saw that...personal conflicts for the other 2 members of the band

kind of a bummer, but i'm not the world's hugest portishead fan either

still would've been a great get for moog.

^^^haha, actually found out the lineup additions last night because schoolkids is giving away a couple of weekend passes, had to keep mum about it until they were released this morning

lineup is completely ridiculous at this point...not quite as top-heavy as last year's but much better overall IMO...the james murphy set sounds really interesting and SBTRKT and Zomby are definitely gonna be dance parties. Not to mention that TVOTR is one of my favorite live bands.

i didn't feel comfortable enough to commit a month ago. i've asked off work for the beach last week, hopscotch, 4 days at the end of sept for a trip to nyc and now this (not to mention the $$ i shelled out for all of that lol - expensive fall is expensive)!

PLUS i'm applying for new jobs. i think i'll still be at my job thru hopscotch and probs the end of sept (maybe hopefully not but prob) so IF i got hired somewhere new then moogfest will be my only "oh shit i've had this planned FOREVER" thing. which is kinda good i haven't found a new job yet because then i'd be like "um yea so about sept and oct - i'm going to be gone. A LOT"

but now we need a hotel in aville for moogfest. that sucks also because those were prob cheaper a month or so ago, too. OH WELL IT IS GOING TO BE AWESOME ANYWAY!

oh so now i probably need to sell my M83 ticket at kings huh

how far is the howard's johnson away from the festival venues? i don't know aville super well (not well enough to know the hotels that are in walking distance to things. or short cab ride is good, too).

OMG I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously. i am lame and the only festival i have ever been to was hopscotch last year, lol. so i've never gone to a music festival that involved traveling. i know it is still NC, but whatevs. the lineup makes me really happy. i do not care if there are hopscotch overlaps the non hopscotch overlaps are way worth it to me.

It's not far; like 5 minutes. You can't walk it, but the cab ride is gonna be like 5 dollars. This goes for all those places up there where the Days Inn is, also. Finding a place downtown within walking distance to the venues that's not overpriced and not sketchy is probably not going to happen at this point. jstpack I think is from there, so he might know more about this than I do. I would recommend the HoJo though, based on past experience, and definitely over the Days Inn, because you might get stuck with a smoking room.

Also, bring a decent jacket. lol

Also, the Asheville Downtown Inn (http://downtowninnandsuites.com/) is supposed to be pretty decent and affordable from what I've heard, but I've never stayed there. It may or may not be booked for Moogfest weekend by now, though.

Last night I was at a party and the DJ was basically playing a Moogfest set. It was awesome. I got to hear a lot of stuff I wasn't familiar with and the Field was one of the artists. I liked it a lot, so I'm putting it up there.

I've also been told they do a kickass job with staggering on the schedule. DJ said last year there wasn't much conflict with what he wanted to see because of this.

Yeah, the lineup is small enough for them to be able to stagger-schedule and avoid some brutal conflicts.

That said, this lineup has so much stuff I want to see that there will inevitably be some brutal conflicts for me.

Not sure I'd feel like I'd be getting my money's worth if Mayer Hawthorne is on at the same time as Umphrey's...

But seriously, you will see a lot of these dudes at afterparties also.
