Got to play for three or four hours and chill with a handful of the developers last weekend at New York Comic-Con.

The mech (Mantis) is a lot of fun. Surprisingly, it isn't overpowered - it has a huge blind spot to the rear and I was boarded/grenaded a few times.

The Valhalla remake, now called Ragnarok, brought back a lot of fond Halo 3 memories.

Some of the new weapons are crazy and awesome. The Incinerator Cannon is deadly and terrifying.

^ Never been to DragonCon so I can't say. I went to NYCC primarily to hang out with Halo community people/developers and play Halo 4.

NYCC seemed pretty big though, larger than PAX (though with far less video game content).

They definitely seem to have taken some great elements from the CoD series, but kept the true halo roots.

I like the power weapon icons on the HUD.

As long as they take out the absurd aim assist, bloom, and slowass game-play from Reach it should be solid.

Aside from the Lag, Halo 3 was a very good competitive game. Probably the last one on console that I can remember... Shadowrun? lol idk.

I'm looking for a solid shooter to invest some time in and get really good at, not a built for 12 year olds shooter where every other kill/death is just a Latency-Bullshit-Dice-Roll *COUGH* Black Ops *COUGH* MW3.

I just hope the multiplayer maps aren't so massively expansive that it takes minutes to find anybody or people just drive vehicles around random portions the whole time.

With maxing out 8v8 a lot of maps from the halo 3 DLC on(ODST, Reach) where just dumb in how they ended up playing.

So,

matchmaking is done similar to COD, where you will more-often-than-not be put into a game that is more or less decided (1v4, etc.).

Also, all armor and even emblems must be unlocked through progression.
