hopefully this will force artists to either create actual websites or invest in putting tracks on itunes
no purpose for myspace." |
You can buy the music of the local bands on myspace.6/29/2011 10:49:06 PM |

Facebook was pretty sweet in 2005, but it started to suck quickly when they opened it up to everyone
I am this close to deleting my account |---|

^^Yeah when you think about it, both are worthless because even when people add their 500 friends that they haven't talked to since high school graduation, they still don't talk to them. If someone is actually your friend then you should have their phone number, or e-mail.

This one is easy. Myspace failed completely and 100% because of their shitty fucking technology.
Clicking on a myspace page was a painful experience. It could crash your browser, it was almost certainly ugly, and you always got blasted with people's shitty choices in music.
And as facebook zoomed by with a much cleaner looking interface, they refused to do a single fucking thing to make their site better.
Facebook is still pretty bad -- it's slow as balls, everything is buggy, and it has a bunch of annoying things that post stupid shit, and I don't think they are trustworthy.
Myspace was just much, much worse. 6/30/2011 12:54:17 AM |

^^^I think you can also add that people aren't as private on facebook. With myspace I saw some pages where you could see a persons friends list and nothing else, but most people set theirs on private so you couldn't even look at their photos, or friends list. With facebook most girls seem to at least leave their friends list viewable, so if you are lucky, you can actually find some random persons photos to look at. That makes facebook better. 6/30/2011 1:55:32 AM |

News Feed, clean layout, relative ease of use.
That said, I hate Facebook, excited about google+ 6/30/2011 2:24:50 AM |

In my opinion, Facebook just got lucky off of Myspace's stupidity. What killed Myspace in my opinion was when Facebook started allowing apps on the site. Before the apps, the two were fairly evenly matched. I know that MySpace tried its hand at apps as well, but the design of the site was piss poor compared to Facebook and by that time it was already too late.
If MySpace had allowed apps before Facebook ever got around to opening its doors to all users, it would be a completely different ballgame today. I've always believed that the best way for a website to succeed is to make it so other people can make money off of the site. The apps were the key to doing this, and the rest is history. 6/30/2011 5:33:49 AM |

i purge my account every month or so...i've never had more than about 200 facebook friends at any given time, and it's usually around 150
i talk to most of them on a regular basis (a couple of times per week)...i don't really talk to my extended family much, but i can't bring myself to remove them because they'll randomly comment on pictures from trips or of my immediate family
really, 150 is too many...i should probably knock that down, some...i'm due for a purge, anyway6/30/2011 8:01:55 AM |

I remember one episode of Rock Of Love where some dumb bitch was bragging to Bret Michaels about how she's got her shit together as a web designer and taught herself everything on her own by using Myspace. 6/30/2011 10:23:42 AM |

I haven't even invited my extended family. I did break down and actually invite my sisters and brother inlaw. I now have 55 friends, most of who sent me an invite. I am glad I joined myspace about 4 years ago though because I did reconnect with some old friends and then started hanging out with them in person. We now communicate by facebook though.7/1/2011 2:22:31 AM |
