Point of killing an informant who already informed?

As a warning to others.

Seriously, it doesn't take a tinfoil hat to believe someone would be murdered over costing someone millions or billions of dollars.

People get murdered for much less.

Making an example out of him. There are other potential informants out there who are watching this unfold and haven't yet made the decision to blow the whistle or not.

I suppose the question is whether it was on behalf of News Corporation or of one of several government agencies / political factions that may be exposed. Given that News Corporation is pretty much deep-sixed at this point, I would lean toward the latter.

"London police have proof in smoking-gun emails that former News of the World editor Andy Coulson knew of bribes paid to police officers, Reuters reported Thursday.

The evidence, Reuters said, comes in an email exchange between Coulson – who after leaving the paper became spokesman for a time for now-Prime Minister David Cameron – and Clive Goodman, the paper’s then-royals correspondent."

Now is a good time to buy News Corp. stock. They'll do a little spring cleaning and be back on top in no time.

Eric Holder is a political hack.

He recommended President Clinton pardon Mark Rich.

He recommended President Clinton grant clemency to the Boricua Popular Army (terrorist organization which in one incident killed members of the US military).

He said he was afraid Arizona's immigration law was going to lead to racial profiling. When asked about this by Congress, he admitted he based his opinion on news reports without actually reading the law.

He has said he will no longer enforce the Defense of Marriage Act.

He threw out the case against the New Black Panther Party because he thought it "does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line for my people."

This is the Attorney General of the United States.

Why do we care who he investigates? He should investigate himself.

Why should we hold it against Eric that he refuses to enforce some homophobic unconstitutional law?

I'm not sure if there's anything here that we didn't already know, but Frontline is generally a pretty fair news source.

Actually, I wasn't already familiar with Murdoch's plans with the Sky Satellite television.

And, apparently, he's facing a scandal in Australia regarding satellite television as well?

I think that may have been Murdoch's rule, as well.

[Edited on March 28, 2012 at 7:29 PM. Reason : Except, replace "an opposing voice" with "a competitor".]
