i know. the no queso thing at chip really pisses me off

HOWEVER

this problem was alleviated in greensboro where there was a moe's and chip right next to each other. so i'd go to moe's for queso and salsa bar then skip across the street to chip for a taco and some guac (moe's guac is usually kinda ew)

that is like the most fatass thing in the world to do...BUT WHATEVER

recently i went there and got a guacamole salad

when they brought it to me they said "oh sorry we were out of avocado"

um you tell me that BEFORE i order it. i don't just want a pile of shredded lettuce and a half frozen slice of tomato. the reason for the salad is the guac, duh.

BS. I'm a ginormous fat person who loves queso more than anything in the entire world (no joke). That said, as a large individual, I know how easy it is to make queso at home--if you're dumb, ask me for instructions. You don't need a restaurant to prepare this stuff for you and then serve up a bunch of other total and complete crap as your meal. It's flat out insulting.

But I'm not cooking at home, I'm going out to a restaurant.

I don't go out to a restaurant just to come home and make additional food to make up for that restaurant's shortcomings.

I feel you, and I've always wondered why they won't give you a crappy cup of cheese.

really, El Rodeo was pretty mediocre. I think they used the absolutely cheapest shit they could in their food. even the salsa they gave you with chips was blander than most cheap mexican places.

Yeah, Fiesta is generic as hell. It's template Mexican food at it's most basic.

Not saying it was bad, just boring and typical.

I will say it's the best Americanized Mexican food in Raleigh/Cary, having decided it's better than El Cerro (and recently El Ro), but that doesn't mean it's not still generic tex-mex. I didn't think it was all that cheap either.

I think the creepy waiter staring at me while I ate might have influenced my decision.

ohhhh
i do kinda like el cerro lunch. not gonna lie. i mean both of those are better than el ro and that place in avent ferry that keeps changing names IMO. i know they are all RELATIVELY the same thing, but there are varying degrees of cheapy somewhat gross (always makes my tummy hurt) mexican haha

but yeah. GIVE ME DOS TAQUITOS

what other places are good? i did not like jibarra (haters gonna hate, but i really didnt)

Apparently the same family owns the new restaurant, I'm not sure why they bothered changing it.

I feel pretty positive about this change. I don't believe chipotle and chile bomba are evening going after the same customer. The burrito places are specifically targeting the person that wants a large tortilla stuffed with rice, beans, meat, and sauce. If that's what I want then I won't be going anywhere else. BUT, if I want jalapeno hushpuppies and a fish taco...well, you get the point

I didn't know Jibarra was owned by the El Rodeo folks. That explains why their food sucks.
