I wonder how many people are reconsidering Vick as the fantasy QB now.
I know it is just preseason, but the whole team looked awful. It was all downhill after the Cullen Jenkins facemask penalty on the first drive. 8/19/2011 6:39:59 AM |

-Special teams looks awesome. I feel bad for DRC. They need to find a consistent spot for him. -Their o-line looks abysmal (right side; which is Vick's blind side.) -Middle of the field on D looks weak. No one will ever throw the ball outside against them. Any team with a decent slot WR or a big back will move straight down the field. I'm surprised Cleveland let McCoky throw so much and didn't use Hillis as much. -DJax looked invisible. -McCoy fantasy value should be rising into top 5 RBs. 8/26/2011 8:13:37 AM |

Watching Sportscenter this morning everyone seemed absolutely gleeful at the troubles of the Eagles.
Rachel Nichols was smiling and very nearly giddy while she talked about Vick's injuries and the possibility of him not playing.
Trent Dilfer sounded like a bitter crotchety old man when talking about Vick's accusations of poor treatment by refs. He just kept complaining about how it's the easiest time to be a QB and any QB who complains must suck. His voice had a tone of "in MY day we had to take helmet-to-helmet hits and we LIKED IT". Perhaps he's jealous that his left eye is looking a little Slothlike in his post-NFL career.

Even with a terrible O-line and awful LBs and safeties, there is no excuse for losing to a Giants team with injuries like they have. I am slightly convinced that Vick being injured for a little while will be a good thing. Let the team concentrate on the basics of football instead of trying to twist the team into his style of play. Andy Reid has never been good at that though. 9/26/2011 12:28:00 PM |

^^ It's what's going to happen when a team is dubbed "the dream team", even if it was a media creation. (Don't know if any of the Eagles referred to themselves as the dream team).

I thought Vick himself did.
And that's not true. Teams dub themselves things all the time and the media eat it up. Look at the actual Dream Team from the 90's. Or "America's Team" for that matter.

^ Difference is, those teams both won championships.
Not saying Philly won't, but the media is always going to pile on the love/hate depending on if you win/lose when you're reffered to as ______Team
If the Eagles win 8 or 9 in a row, Stuart Scott will start off SC with somthing like "the dream team has finally woke up" and Sunday Countdown will have a video reel with the first 3 games in black and white, showing all of the Eagle's mistakes and Vick's injuries. Followed by all the highlights from the next 8 in color showing all the "great" plays. It's what ESPN does, you should know that by now.

Mediocre QB from Houston that was drafted too high by a team the sucks in the draft? He was not the answer.
But I don't think Vick is either.

And he's playing above average right now (much better stats than Rivers so far)...so apparently he was ready to play.
You still have to give him a little time before you call him overrated.
^And Harrington was garbage. He might have been mediocre his first couple years with Detroit...but he had absolutely got zero protection and was destroyed on a weekly basis. By the time he left he had no confidence whatsoever. Either way...his overall career is much less than mediocre. Below average would probably be a compliment.9/27/2011 8:01:37 AM |

I dunno... Curtis Painter looked pretty good yesterday. Plus, even with Peyton out for the season, I don't think the Colts are ready to draft his replacement yet.
I think the Dolphins have the best chance the first QB pick in the draft as of right now.
Either way... Philly needs to fire Any Reid, let VY walk,Do their best to trade Vick somehow and, if they don't get Andrew Luck, spend every pick on LBs, OLs, and Ss. 10/10/2011 8:58:26 AM |

Reid has even said himself that he is not doing a good job. Truthfully this season is on the front office for ignoring the middle of the field and not doing anything to help the LB core or the offensive line. Not really Reid's fault, but ultimately the coach is the first one held responsible when a team does not meet expectations. 10/10/2011 2:07:39 PM |

I agree Philly needs a real QB.
But these consistently stupid decision, penalties, and turnovers fall on the coaching staff. There is nothing you can do about a pass that gets bobbled in the air after a hit, but not tucking the ball in and trying the pitch the ball backwards as you're falling at the goal line at this level just can't happen. They got beat all 4 quarters yesterday, but the other 3 losses they had the lead in the 4th qtr. They players have some blame. The talent is surely there, but they are all playing flat and uninspired. That's the staff's fault. The consistent awful play the last 4 weeks with this talent is 100% the coach's fault. 10/10/2011 2:50:48 PM |

Did anyone actually watch the game?
Vick's interceptions were from a tipped ball at the line, 2 hits as he was throwing, and one shitty catch that the receiver KICKED into the air. Offensive line was terrible...
At the end of the game... The Bills have 4th and 1 yard to go with 1:23 left on the clock around the 50 yard line. They decide to try to get the Eagles to jump offsides to win the game (Eagles have no timeouts left). EVERYONE watching the damn game knows they are not running a play and will take a timeout or let the play clock expire instead of hiking the ball.... Except for Juqua Parker, Eagles DE. He jumps at the hard count and costs the team a chance at an offensive drive.
Between that and Ronnie Brown trying to throw a pass to the FB as he was getting tackled on the goaline.... stupidest plays of the year

In my mind there are... they were not bad passes (although I'll accept a tipped ball can be considered one). The picks were caused by the offensive line (or the better opponent's defensive line) and a receiver not holding onto the ball. Vick performed great if you actually watched the game, he just got some unfortunate play from teammates that reflect on his stats.
He wasn't like Romo throwing it to the chest of defenders as he sat comfortably in the pocket. 10/10/2011 3:37:44 PM |
