I guess you're right. He is a shitty QB and no Mike Glennon. Who is going to have the best NFL career the world has ever seen.

I mean, I never said he is going to be a Tom Brady or some AMAZING pro QB, but he'll be serviceable and he'll start. I get a lot of us are butt-hurt that he went to go play for a real football program with a real coach, but its time to get over it. He'll succeed at the next level. I don't really see an argument for why he won't. If its an arm strength issue, Chad Pennington started for years and had pretty poor arm strength. Wilson makes good throws, sound decisions and has a decent completion percentage. This idea that he is going to be some washout Jimmy Clausen isn't practical.

Haven't seen any Wisconsin games this season, but I recall him making more jump ball throws than I'd like to see from a QB who wants to start in the NFL

Not saying he won't be drafted or anything, just something I always remembered thinking when he was here

pdrankin, you're comparing RW to Drew Brees. Brees has the best accuracy of anyone in NFL and has like Peyton Manning work ethic. So if he has all that more power to him but let's pump the brakes here!

I know that he is RW's coach, so I guess its taken with a grain of salt, but in this article the Badgers coach is talking about RW's work ethic.

http://www.chicagonow.com/chicago-sports-guru/2011/09/russell-wilson-makes-badgers-even-more-dangerous-in-big-10/

Also, Russ is on pace to shatter some of Brees' single season Big 10 records.

woa woa woa hold on there. you are throwing this around like 'no big deal RW is going to throw up the same stats as brees'

before you get to giddy remember that brees was throwing the same stats up against BIG 10 defenses not atlantic division ACC defenses.

I was talking single season records, not career, because you're right can't compare defenses etc. I'll find the article, but I was reading it last night that if he keeps up his current pace, this season, he'll break single season records set by ol' birth mark himself.

[Edited on September 27, 2011 at 4:47 PM. Reason : also, the Big 10 is a super over-rated conference so I don't know how good their "defense" ]

The BIG 10 is over-rated as a conference, Wisconsin is legit, Nebraska is legit, but the conference as a whole isn't. They are always highly ranked because of their perceived conference greatness go to bowl games and get wrecked. last year, with Ohio State finally not shutting the bed the conference finished out the bowl season 3-5. You'd figure the rigors of Big 10 play would prepare them for Big East/ACC type opponents

yes that's my point. for 1 year. drew brees was putting up stats his whole career against legit D, not in the ACC for 3 of those years. drew brees in the acc would have been utter insanity.

2005-2010 Big Ten went 6-6 vs. ACC

source http://football.stassen.com/records/confres.html must be all those elite defenses. Also, our big teams Miami 0-2 G-Tec 0-1 But Duke 1-1, UVA 2-0 and BC 1-0 really helped out the cause

holy crap. you realize if there was an ACC/BIG10 challenge in football we would lose 0-10 right? you are seriously going to fight the obvious. go ahead man.

in other news...
the ny giants better get ready for danny o'brien. yes he's on an aweful maryland team but he's putting up unheard of numbers as a freshman/sophomore comparable to dan marino. he's already beaten the miami hurricane national champions. this kid is a star in the making. with only a little more maturity he'll be a position to take the giants to the superbowl in 3-5 years.

good grief.

^ ACC would definitely lose an 11 game challenge (probably like 4-7 with Duke sitting it out), but that NC State vs. Minnesota game would be epic!

Epically painful for NCST fans.

On a positive note, Glennon has gone up two more places to 22nd! Wilson is still sitting solidly in the #2 spot.

I like how someone said that Russell was supposedly compared to Drew Brees as good evidence he is going to be drafted- Glennon has been compared to Matt Ryan, does that mean I should expect to see him in a Dolphins jersey in a couple years? Or is it more likely that when coaches want to compare the good qualities they see in one of their QB's, they'd rather do it with someone who has made a success of their career and is still relevant, and not some Josh Stone-esque kind of player?

(not trying to bash on either QB there, but you always hear comparisons like these being made- it doesn't mean much)

lol, i was just looking at individual statistical leaders in the ACC...and i looked at the total yardage leaders. Of course they are all QB's, but what made me laugh was the fact that every QB with positive rushing yardage was black and every quarterback with negative rushing yardage was white. Not really funny, but just...i dunno, made me laugh though

SINGLE SEASON RECORD

also, renner has such a high efficiency because he throws about 90 dump off passes every game.

I bet his percentage of throws < 5 yds is much higher than about any other QB in the damn country.

Garbage>Renner

If he's still high on this list after this game, then I am at a loss of words.
