if they came out with a new startrek centered 100 years after ds9, I'd watch the hell out of it.

If rather see trek 10- 20 years after ds9

Just watched lower decks. Great episode. Sisko however would have crossed the
Border and gotten the chick back.

maybe it'll be a premise of where a starfleet ship gets lost on the otherside of the galaxy, 600 billion light years.... oh nevermind.

600 billions light years is MUCH larger than the entire observable universe.

Good of this for any. If someone has not seen any Star Trek, which series would you recommend? I've gotten recommendations of TNG, DS9, Voyager, and even Babylon 5.

I'd be on the toss up of saying TNG or DS9 first, because a lot of the more modern trek's have interwoven storylines from TNG. DS9 was notrious for doing this for a number of their earlier episodes. Nerds would get a rise to see old TNG cast once in a while.

Voyager is it's own off shoot and can be enjoyed if you don't know a damn thing about the trek universe. Its believed to be one of the weaker trek's only, besides archer's, because it had high expectations when it was aired.

go for the next generation, for sure. but you should start with the pilot for the original series, for gigglies.

I'm a big fan of stargate, just didn't like universe. I still watched it, but the drama from it was too much and too forced. The only part I liked about it was the fact that they had that cool off world base with the rail gun emplacements in the pilot... too bad they destroyed it. But whatever, good for them for trying to restarted stargate.

it seemed to have some "filler" eps in the first season. if only they had known it would be short, they could have made a bad ass miniseries or even show with the whole concept, i bet. looks like they'll just leave it hanging forever though.

would the prometheus class be classified as a warship? I don't recall if they ever mentioned it being beyond the prototype stage, then again, the defiant was a failed prototype that was re-purposed.

The Star Trek ship with the third warp nacelle was used in the season 7 Finale "All Good Things.."
It was the futuristic version of the Enterprise that "Captain" Riker was commanding.

^ Admiral Riker.

Also, the Prometheus was nothing more than blatant pandering to the fanboys.

No idea how this hasn't been mentioned yet, but if Sisko were in command of the Enterprise that Borg massacre would never have happened (as he would have retooled "Hank" as a virus, probably without a second thought).

This one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Wolf_359

Not to mention that if we moved Sisko to the Enterprise, it would have changed the commander of HIS shop during Wolf 359. Could Picard or Janeway have avoided that outcome? Doubtful

are you talking about "Hugh?"

if so, it would have no bearing on the battle because the events of that episode happened long after Wolf 359.

maybe my memory of this shit is too spotty to talk about sensibly then lol

i was under the impression that Picard could have fucked the Borg up by using Hugh and chose not to. Was under the impression Wolf 359 happens after this (which would be unfortunate for Picard's decisions) -- this appears to be false, though. Still gotta wonder how many Borg atrocities Picard failed to prevent though

Not so much because when Capt. Picard first met Hugh (Hank) he introduced himself as Locutus of Borg.

Now, he could have prevented Wolf 359 by not being so smug in front of Q in the first place.

^not necessarily... it is widely believed that the borg vessel they encountered via Q was on it's way to the federation anyway, and Q actually did them a favor by giving the enterprise prior warning about the borg.

I mean maybe. Q only took them 2 years out at maximum warp (Which is still a long ways away) so it's likely that within the next few decades they would have encountered to Borg anyways. Given what we now know about the Dominion Wars and whatnot, the Federation likely would have been better prepared.

the thing is that ship was already on it's way to the federation, and Q gave the federation a "preview" about what was coming.
