I, too, watched Revenge. I thought it was OK, but grossly misrepresented. They made it look like she was going around and murdering people (sort of like Colombiana), but in actuality she is just inserting herself into scenarios and tipping the dominoes to wreck their lives. Heck, her first target she marked off was essentially just driven from her home but given a Van Gogh painting.
They even advertised it like her father was killed in front of her (at least the impression that I got) but that, too, was incorrect.

I did miss of bit of the beginning where someone died, but it looks like they are building up to that with the rest of the season. Not really piquing my interest like I thought it would, mostly due to it not being as cut-throat as thought.

But it doesn't bother me. I think it's really hard to keep a baby actor around anyway...so, whatever...she's there to get this new adoption story line going. I personally can't get too upset about any <5 year olds on TV.

I think it's because that whole bit has been done a million times. Modern Family takes a bunch of old sitcom routines and brings it into the new sitcom style. It can be funny but is never very original.

pan am lacks the authenticity that mad men has...but this is the pilot soooo maybe it'll improve. i'll watch it again.

Manny is the worst part of Modern Family. The character and the actor. I actually think that section of the family is the least funny part of the show. But it works well with everything else, so it doesn't bother me that much.

Yeah...Gloria is just as bad as Manny...but at least she has nice tits to stare at. Al Bundy saves that part of the family.

I don't mind Claire, because she plays so well off of Phil (Phil makes that show and Luke cracks me the fuck up). The gays are hilarious too.

Here you go though...

I don't think the actor that plays Manny is good (or a good actor in general), and I don't think the actual character is funny. I get what they are trying to do with the character...the little kid trying to act like a mature adult, using big words, wearing dinner jacket, etc. I personally don't find that humorous. I also think the actor over does it (even though the character technically "over does it"). In my opinion (just so you don't get confused), I feel like every other actor in that show sells their character well...except for the actor who plays Manny. He's the one actor who seems like he's running through the memorized lines.

Is that articulate enough for you?

re: Gloria - You can bet on at least one "hot chick dating an old man" joke and one "I'm Colombian and/or my accent is funny" joke almost every single episode. It was funny at first but not into the 3rd season. I like Jay and she plays off him well enough so I don't think she's worthless but she definitely makes them the weaker of the 3 families to me.
