Well so i have an

AMD X4 945 3ghz
GEForce 9800+ 2G

any suggestions / do i need to upgrade for this shit? this computer is like 2 years old so i'm assuming i can't play any pc game made in the last 23 months. My MOBO has dual sli or whatever that shit is called so i'm pretty sure i have another vidya spot

Got my first major piece for my build for this game and more.

Intel i7 2600K and 8GB of memory right now, will be adding 8 more for 16.

Next up is graphics card, any ones ideally around 150-200 that would play this on pretty high settings and carry sound through the HDMI? I'm torn between an ATi 6970 and Nvidia 570 right now if I can find them in that range, might be a pipe dream as I haven't looked too hard for it.

How do people call a Beta "dog shit" when we haven't seen any vehicles yet and we don't even have access to the DX11 features (to turn on/off) and the game is down right amazing graphically and the animations are almost identical to BC2. So if you didn't like BC2 then you probably won't like BF3 unless you love vehicles and large scale warfare (something we haven't seen yet since this is BETA).

I have Beta and Alpha tested a lot of games and this is the first time I played a Beta and was like "thank God, PC is back". I've been playing PC games for 18 years so I've seen the up and downs of the business. This game has set a new standard for PC shooters, even though we haven't seen the large maps or vehicles.

My console buddies can't play it, I think DICE was a little over zealous on the graphics for that old ass console hardware (GPUs are about the same as the 7800GTX)

I hope it works well for them; I've only heard bad things, especially the PS3.

Also no way a 560ti can run this game maxed at 1920x1080, I have a 480 and my VRAM is breaking 1400Mb at 1200p with everything maxed (I avg 50fps). I've never seen any game break over 1Gb even Metro 2033 or Crysis, unless the game is very optimized for large maps I will have to turn my settings down (specs right below OP).



I know one thing I can't wait to see the lighting effects, post processing and motion blur while flying and how it changes based on altitude.

Unless there is a change in PCB design (look for review of model) the cards just have different stickers on them. The main difference is in warranty and the best used to be EVGA, but now they have changed a lot of things and make you pay for stuff that used to be free.

^ it is possible, I'm not an expert on that resolution as long as it is a 560ti.

A regular 560 should play at your 900p res just fine, maybe not in ultra but in high I believe. Yeah, the 570 is $280-30 AR = $250. Its a steal. Its an MSI so its not some POS non-name bard, they make some good shit. Its not the twin razor or whatever high lvl version of these cards that run alot cooler than stock even OC because it uses military grade components.

But yeah, MSi is getting to the same brand identity as Evga over the past year. I've been pretty impressed how they are making a comeback in both mobo's and gpu's as of late.

Even if the system says its not part of your line item, they should still ship with the coupon. If not, you can always call customer service since its an nvidia promo, not just a specific retailer promo.

I ended up picking up the gtx460 as well for another friend. Its funny cause the 460 is actually faster than the 550 for $20 less. Pretty good value. Add two in SLI and it should be close to a 570.

Here are a few flaws I've noticed:

1. Hit boxes, you can clear a corner by over 2 seconds and still die by a guy who can't see you in a door way opposite of the corner (talking solid walls in subway)

2. Odd damage, I shot a RPG at 2 guys both on the ground and I think one was helping the other revive and I got no kills. The RPG hit them dead center in the face.

3. Driver issues which are expected, random flashing textures or 1 second white screen.

4. Need Smoke Nades to balance out the prone camping snipers

My lan is hosting a big lan party in November at one of our clan mates warehouse in SC, should be off the hook. He has 24down/5up at the warehouse. The two guys that live there already prepped the location with phase power and spider boxes; even built a bathroom/shower.

I been playing on Ultra Settings on 1440x900 getting about 40-60 FPS, it might dip into the high 30s every now and again. I am using GTX 560 (non-Ti) SSC DS. I am using a 360 controller too

Ugg... My clan kept trying to play BF3 last night and every 45 mins, the server would boot everyone. Just see in origin that everyone drops at the same time and the communal sound of everyone saying "FUCK" and a long sigh... lol

Most of us would take a quick minecraft break before rejoining again. Takes a while for the party system to get 10 people join in a server at once. lol

My 560 is running this game just fine for me on my monitor, I don't think I need to upgrade my GPU just for this game, but I am still gonna upgrade my processor more than likely (that has nothing to do with this game).
