I am always up for hearing opinions. I have never built any type of structure in my life, so i'm really just learning as I go, I never claim to be an expert on this stuff. unfortunately, by the time the pictures get posted it is usually too late 5/23/2012 10:22:26 PM |

i've always wondered how well a steel roof with bed-liner on it would last.

Made more progress on the siding, and got some temporary stairs built to use until I get the deck done.
Found this track from my buddy just up the driveway from the cabin.

this track measures just over 5" wide.
let me remind you that the hunter that took this bear said it showed a 5-1/2" track width. :

found them in a picture from december 2010 looking brand new, so sometime not long before that. gotta hit those joints with liquid nails and use treated wood and these bastards will last forever. they have been outside since i built them. 6/26/2012 9:17:42 PM |

huh? Liquid Nails HD Construction adhesive is listed as being both water and weather resistant, and is solid as a rock after 18+ months outside?

the original... now listed as "projects" is not. (easy to tell because they also say "water cleanup" on it)
sorry hd construction should be fine.
the UNC Charlotte library... i shit you not... they used the original to glue the pre-cast siding to the building and it started falling off about 1 year later.

I just have one update pic from the cabin, but this past weekend was a good weekend. Jeepman, TheBullDoza and a few other non-tww'ers went up. We got the gables frames in and sided and the front door installed(minus the knob and lock).
The outside is damn near complete, now I get to worry about finishing the inside and building the porch. 7/25/2012 8:09:17 PM |

Hurley and i finally started on the WTFAB buggy a few weeks ago. So far we have set up front and rear 4-links is about it. put the engine in today to make sure everything cleared with the front link setup.
I wont type a novel, here are the pictures of the progress so far and maybe one of what it used to look like.
Start(ish)
front links and cardboard mock up engine
Maybe i'll actually finish this one this time...... 3/15/2013 9:38:56 PM |

Picked up some tars tonight. Almost comical, I may have to downsize, but these will work for now
I really like the stance, too bad it is at full bump right now it will be another 6" taller at least once shocks are charged. Way too tall, but that is what happens working within the limitations of a chassis that just wasn't built to be low. 3/26/2013 8:59:50 PM |

adam8778 has an 03 dodge with 47RE dr pepper has an 03 dodge with nv4500
adam wants a manual, and the dr wants an auto.... soooooooooo we'll be performing a "trans"plant between both trucks soon. I'll be keeping the manual steering column and going with a floor shifter (model tbd). I'll also be rebuilding the tainted 47RE - thanks to adam8778's POWR - with minor upgrades, shift kit, and a reman aftermarket converter of stock diesel stall. This trans will remain an automatic, however I have not completely decided if I want a standalone transmission controller or to yank adam's TCM & harness. 8/28/2013 1:40:01 PM |

OHWEBACK! Transmission swap 2k13 begins tomorrow at lunch.
This weekend's agenda is to get the manual equipment pulled from my truck and installed into adam8778's. He's getting the trans, my t-case input, some interior pieces and then we download a revised ECM program from Smarty (http://www.smartypower.com) and hopefully he'll be double clutching and granny shifting by sunday! 11/21/2013 12:58:02 PM |

it's the 5-speed, but, longevity for towing/etc.
it's amazing the difference between input/output shaft diameters on the nv4500 vs. the 47RE (NV is wayyyy larger) 11/25/2013 7:16:07 AM |

Yeah, if the NV4500 ever craps out on me i might would consider looking for a cheap NV5600. My old automatic was in dire need of a rebuild, it was worn out and i keep a trailer hooked to my truck 80% of the time, most of my driving is to the mountains and back.
i figure this swap cost me well less than half of what even a budget rebuild would have run non the automatic, and should be a much better drivetrain combo for what i do with the truck.
also, according to the computer(yeah, i know..) i may have gained 4-5 mpg on the mixed driving i have done so far..... cant complain about that.,
