Yeah, Hawkeye has always been the odd man out. I never bothered reading up on his origin story/abilities before, but here it is:

Hawkeye wasn't lame in The Ultimates. But there he was more like Bullseye than Hawkeye. Once he killed a bunch of guards while he was tied to a chair by ripping out his own fingernails and flicking them into their throats.

i hope they use this opportunity to springboard a few more lesser known characters with cameos i.e. rebooted spider-man , war-machine?, and my favorite for a cameo , Black panther. He would fit the plot perfectly considering the entire world is under siege not just America , he isn't ridiculously over powered, and he'd augment the color that nick fury has added to the avengers.

I can't imagine why they'd complicate the Loki plot with Kree/Skrull unless there's something from continuity that I'm unaware of.

I, too, would love more Marvel shout-outs. War-Machine could easily show up as the character was in both Ironman movies.

the japan trailer has some additional footage. it also gives a better look at black widow and hawkeye's roles. it makes so much sense! thor doesn't know what a plane is, tony has his suit to worry about, cap is from ww2, and bruce banner is unstable. this leaves hawkeye and black widow in charge of chauffeur duty.

Looks like an embarrassingly small amount of effort was put into making him look like an actual archer. I guess that goes well with the complaints about the sounds his bow was making in videos.

96% at RT right now. It's early but it's still out of 26 reviews.

I don't think it will stay at Dark Knight level critical acclaim but at least it looks like it might avoid "too many characters, not enough story"

Crossroads is doing a special screening of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America leading up to a midnight screening of The Avengers. Got a big group of friends which have taken the day off to be there. So damn excited.
