I don't understand the blind hatred towards these people.

Seems like a bandwagon hatred to me. You feel justified to say the cruelest things in the world about these people because you know someone will agree with you.

You fail to hear the guy out.
You fail to listen to reason when reason is presented.

Yes there are pedophiles that abuse, rape, murder, and take advantage of children.
Yes they are evil.

These same people exist in the adult age range, too, but you seem to condone their behavior because their victims lived on the planet longer.


What about the ones that aren't criminals that DO love children? By the laws of all that exist, at least one must exist.

Once again, I compare it to how the average person chose to view homosexuals just a mere 22 years ago.

I really don't know. What I do know, is that every single person who defends homosexuality (me included) loves to use the phrase "but they were born that way". Well, I am pretty sure pedophiles were also born that way as well. So if that is indeed our logic, and we are using this logic only when it is convenient for us, than we really need need to reevaluate how we treat pedophiles.

Don't get me wrong, I do not condone sex with children or anything like that. If someone touched my little girl, I would kill them - and I am not exaggerating at all there. The acts created by pedophiles are bad, but the people may or may not be. If a guy stands up and says, I have a problem with alcohol, we sympathize and get him help. Same with drugs. Or sex addictions. But if a dude stands up and says, I have urges to fuck little kids (but I have not yet), I don't think he gets much sympathy. He's ostracized - in today's society it is better for him to just hide his feelings, and eventually they're probably going to come out in a negative way.

I don't have the answer, but there has to be one. If we can send a dude to the moon, or make an atom bomb, or get Ben Roethlisberger to stop raping women, than we can do this. I can promise that this attitude that many people have that "these people are the worst scum in the world" is not going to help the problem at all.

It is coming, folks... watch out. Conservatives said years ago if you legitimise gay marriage and/or bring about open societal acceptance of such relationships, the next stage would be acceptance of adult-child 'love'. I still don't agree with that slippery slope, but seems like they are becoming bolder and bolder. And I still don't think it will become acceptable in society, let alone legalized... right???

I can see how demanding summary execution for pedophiles who haven't done anything is counterproductive to getting them to identify themselves, either to seek help (which I'm still not convinced is viable) or at least so the rest of society can keep their eyes on them.

I still don't care whether or not they "can help it." OK, maybe they're born this way. And maybe Jeffery Dahmer was born wanting to eat people. I am not really interested in criminal justice as a means of determining "fault" in that sense. Whether you were born crazy or got that way later is much less important than the fact that you are crazy, and in a way that makes you do bad things.
