it's a pretty good show. I'm interested in the various factions and what roles the Grimms play within them. Bt watching the episodes from week to week do you ever get the idea they are being showed out of order? It seems like some weeks the plots from previous stories don't quite match up.

I'm not sure how I feel about last week's season finale.

I feel like major points weren't resolved enough, and it was kind of a let down. I knew that woman had to have been a grimm and possibly his mother but I don't understand where they are going with the whole Adalind hurting Juliette thing. I also feel like they wasted too much time with the scene in the trailer and him trying to explain that he's a grimm, I kept yelling at the TV "Take her to Monroe's!" and finally he did and it was too late... I was pissed

Yeah I thought Monroe would have been the first stop. I did figure early on that was his mom. I think the blond chick wanted revenge on him for taking away her powers and what made her "special" Remember how her mom looked at her after she found out? So blond chick thought about what the worst thing that she could do to him and that's hurt the one he loves.

I'm not sure how things will go next season. I did think Juliette over reacted a bit about the whole Grimm thing. She has been the subject of some weird shit so you think she would be a little open minded. Maybe her over reaction and his mom's introduction into the series will have Nick leave Juliette. His mom will say that her job is what got his dad killed and Juliette will be pissed and Nick will make it worse and force her to leave for her own good.

With his partner I'm thinking that he'll find out about the Grimms from someone and feel betrayed. The shadow folks that told him about the Grimms will manipulate him into betraying Nick.

I'm not sure about the other stuff though.

i figured the woman was a grimm but didn't suspect it'd be his mother. i'm now confused as to why he got his grimm powers when his aunt died if his mother was also a grimm and still alive. doesn't really make sense to me.

I think he could see things before his Aunt died. If I remember right, before she showed up he saw the blond succubus chick's real face. I'm guessing that if his mom was there to take care of him through childhood he would have been trained a little better and gotten his powers when she died. Since his mom wasn't around he got his awakening from his aunt's death. I dunno that's my theory, but I try not to think too hard while watching the show and just enjoy it for what it is..lol

im pretty sure in one of the first episodes his Aunt tells him that he Grimm's realize their powers at different rates/times in their life, not corresponding to the death of their parents.

Decent start to the season. I'm glad they didn't just kill off the mother immediately as I expected, though the 'To Be Continued' still keeps that possibility open.

I really wish they would stop dangling the carrot of the identity of the police chief, though. Or at least they can do it a little better and give us something more concrete.

what sort of identity? Didn't we learn last season pretty early on that he was above a Reaper? and last night it seemed to allude that he's working directly for one of the original families during his phone call? It made it seem like he's had a close eye on the Grimm for years and has close ties to the Royals

He has close ties to the families, sure. Its obvious he's mixed up in that situation. But in the episode last night, he additionally said "you don't know what I am". Not 'who', but 'what'.

PS: I really hope they don't keep that new opening to the show. It was appalling.

glad I wasn't the only one that thought the intro was bad. So they are giving Juliette the whole Dallas it's just a dream treatment and have her forget everything. I liked the episode though.

^ It's definitely the go-to "we need our main character's SO to forget that they just found out about their powers". It's done in different ways, but pretty much the same thing 90% of the time. I'm not hating though...it works.

I don't think there's anything supernatural about the Royal Family, but I guess the Chief is a bastard of a Royal and a hexenbeast? Pretty cool. Still not really sure what his endgame is.

^^ i didn't get that sense at all. he turned red, i think that comes from being a prince. i didn't get hexenbeast from that. i think he's a prince and i think those are red devil-like things. it seems like he and a small number of contacts/relatives in the family are trying to get a grimm in their pocket for some reason, but yeah i have no clue what that reason is.

and yeah wtf is mama grimm doing, it's been a number of episodes since her last appearance and she's almost definitely still in town.

^^w00t! We finally caught up last night (we only had seen the first episode of season 2 until this week, so I was absolutely delighted when they voice over track was gone. That shit was terrible. The update opening is now 1000x better just for having removed that and letting the fucking thing be self-explanatory.

Yea wondering myself if the Royals are like vampires or something and what mongrel the Bastard Prince is to make him look like that.

Yeah they made a really obvious point to show that guy in the episode or two prior to this one. Was pretty clear something was going to be done with that. I think it'd been better if the showed him more subtly and for longer before having an episode like this one.
