Braves Avoid Arbitration With Jair Jurrjens By Tim Dierkes [January 17, 2012 at 12:12pm CST]
The Braves avoided arbitration with starter Jair Jurrjens on a deal worth $5.5MM, MLBTR has learned. He can earn another $25K each time for reaching 175, 180, 190, 200, 210, and 215 innings. 1/17/2012 1:14:09 PM |

Today we honor former Brave and one of the all-time shittiest pieces of shit ever, #51 Danny Kolb.
In his lone season with the Braves, this magnificent bastard put up a nearly 6.00 ERA and was 11-7 in save opportunities. Originally traded to Atlanta from Milwaukee, he was sent back to the Brewers for Wes Obermueller, who was released by the Braves two weeks later and whose last name is German for "Fuck Danny Kolb". 2/14/2012 3:58:53 PM |

#49 Jair Jurrjens, who should have been traded three months ago
Jurrjens went into the break last year as one of the top three contenders for the Cy Young and then went to absolute shit in the second half: only 41 innings and 5.88 ERA and 1.6 WHIP (!). His season finished like it started, on the DL. Can't believe Wren held on to this guy. Deal him by the deadline, before he turns into a pumpkin.] 2/16/2012 2:20:58 PM |

Seriously though as long as Hanson is healthy and the good JJ is around, the Braves can weather being without Hudson for a couple months. Maybe Medlen can earn a rotation spot. No one is really talking about him being a regular.

Well at this rate Uggla is going to blow out his ACL tomorrow and McCann will be dead by Sunday. Heyward will go on a drug binge and murder three people, one being Bourne. By the time April gets here, the Braves will be relocating to Pembroke as it'll be cheaper than turning on the lights at Turner. 2/21/2012 12:48:53 PM |

With apologies to Hanson, Glavine and Kimbrel, we move on to #45. Unfortunately there are no notable #45s in recent Braves history. So let's honor the Dominican Jeremy Lin: Jose Cantstandya.
Jose came out hitting like a motherfucker at the end of last summer, just as everyone realized Heyward was the Francoeur to FFF's McCann. This year he is certainly destined for great things, like making the club in Spring Training, hitting .210 and being DFA'd in May.] 2/21/2012 12:59:06 PM |

ajcbraves David O'Brien #Braves 3B Chipper Jones had bad sunburn today after two-day fishing trip on Fla. river. "And now apparently I'm fat, too," he said....
ajcbraves David O'Brien #Braves 3B was referring to a now-infamous photo in which wind and lighting made the 227-pound Jones look like a lumpy 280 or so
ajcbraves David O'Brien #Braves teammates were busting on Jones, including Brian McCann, whom Jones has often teasted for being heavy in the past.
ajcbraves David O'Brien "Funny thing is, I'm about seven pounds lighter now than I usually am in camp," Jones said. "First time I've ever been called fat."

And would you look at this list of recent Braves who have worn #43 -- it's a snarky fan's wet dream. Here I am browsing b-r.com a few minutes ago
Scott Proctor: Had one good game in his entire career, during which he couldn't even get out of the batters box without hitting the dirt face-first.
Jesse Chavez: The VULTURE. He looks like this now:
Kyle Farnsworth: Two stints in Atlanta with surprisingly good numbers for a guy who blew every big game he pitched in.
Raul Mondesi: I believe I've mentioned before that I dislike this gentleman.
Mark Wohlers: He's not really a piece of shit but I've never seen a home run ruin a guy's career like Leyritz's did to Wohlers. Leyritz also ruined the life of that guy he murdered with his car. What a monster.
This year's #43 is Julio Teheran. Please don't be like any of these guys.] 2/23/2012 3:12:00 PM |

Rotation dRaMa!!
Quote : | "“But after a month or two, somebody’s got to go [when Hudson returns],” Minor said. “Overall, it’s not really – it’s about making the team, but if … I can control my third pitch and have a decent fourth pitch, then there’s no reason I shouldn’t pitch in the big leagues somewhere. If they don’t have room for me here, then there’s no reason they shouldn’t trade me or just do something with me.”" |

I did not catch the Braves ST scores over the weekend. Looks like the Tigers raped. Teheran gave up 6 HRs in two innings. Minor was probably jerking off on the bench after the 3rd left the park.
Also when did Freeman get hurt? Not a great start to the season so far... 3/6/2012 7:38:37 AM |
