Pack wins 9-5. Got interesting in the 9th when Wake scored two and had the bases loaded, but they hit into a double play to end the game. Ogburn got the win. Game 2 at 2pm with Rodon starting.

He had the one bad inning against Tech when he lost his control, but threw a no-hitter. We took him out when he started loosing control again later in the game. It happened a lot faster against Wake, but hopefully he can get back into rhythm.

UVA-FSU is on TV tonight...nice to see there will finally be a decent (not great, but decent) amount of ACC baseball on TV this year. Just disappointed all of our TV games are on the road.

His high ERA comes from his appearance in the Friday game vs GT. In 4 innings, Tech got 9 ER off him. Take away the Tech game and he has a 3.27 ERA with 10 SO and 2 BB.

He had a bad outing. It is what it is. That being said I don't think saying "if" he could have made one more shot and he's good just played bad today is nearly the same. I may be misinformed though.

he's only pitched two games. stats don't usually mean a whole lot after 2 games.

^^^ ERA is important for starters near the end of the season. One bad outing kills a stat early on. Example, you start, allow a HR and 1 out, get hurt, you got yourself a 27 ERA.

that's an extreme, but it does show that 2 games is a poor way to compare pitchers with ERA.

Some people have wanted this series moved to a weekend series, but that would mean no home-home or we do a series like Elon last year where it was at State on Fri & Sun and at Elon on Sat. Most teams who have a rival not in their conference do the mid-week meetings. I'm pretty sure Clemson-SCar do this and UGA-GT do 1 in Athens, 1 at Tech, and 1 at Turner Field.

Yeah, we will never throw our weekend starting rotation during the week ever, but will put in our relief pitchers to get them some work. We pitched Wilkins, DJ Thomas, Danny Healey, and Chris Overman tonight.
